Almost a week since his outing against the Reds and there TV people were still revving on Wacha's change-up. If he goes well could give him the nod for next Sunday vs the Buccos.

Wonder how long a leash we will give Wacha, with Martinez presumably right behind him.

Pretty long as we just might need them both in that rotation.

We need Yadi and Carlos back in the lineup.  Wouldn't mind seeing Wong also.

This will be another blowout.  The Reds will pound Wacha and his two pitches.

If we get 4 hits again, it won't matter what kind of job Wacha does.

I'm of the impression that there are certain people that just expect the worst so that they are pleasantly surprised when good things happen. I have a friend that is a Reds fan and sold all his tickets this year he was so disgusted with the team, and I was like, man, you realize the Reds are having one of the best seasons since you've been alive?!?!?!

the reds do stack up nicely at home this series, right when pretty much our entire rotation is in the dumps....I dont expect to win this game either, but it would certainly be a nice surprise. We have gotten to bailey before but if I remember correctly it was always on the road

I think RB is actually a Reds fan anyhow. I believe he lives in Indiana which is no mans land in my book and he seems to have nice things to say about the Reds but rarely the Cardinals. Since Zona is mediocre and the Nats are dysfunctional the Reds and Cards should both be in the Wild card round at least. We do need to figure out a few things in the mean time though like who is our number 3 starter and so on. Two decent starting pitchers is just not going to get it done in this day and age IMO.

GO CARDS!

Has Wacha been penciled in for this game for a long time? Just wondering why Lyons wouldn't get the nod against guys like Bruce, Choo and Votto.

Since he was but a gleam in his father's eye, Booyah. Wacha has been destined to shine in exactly the sort of situation that he and his St. Louis Cardinals face here tonight in the Queen City. For the occasion, I'll be on hand calling all of the action....well half of the action if someone should be so kind as to join me in the PBP booth this evening. This series is not lost yet as 3-4 is still doable.

I'd be happy with a split Pugs. We are a .500 club since the break.biggrin

Every team goes through a prolonged .500 stretch every now and then, Booyah. It should have about run it's course for our Redbirds.

Well, that was an epic fizzle. First two on, holliday Ks swinging at one in the dirt and Crig meekly GIPD.

Top of 1   Bailey dealing for Cincy

MCarp- Slaps a 2-2 Bailey offering into left for a leadoff base knock!

Beltran- Receives 4 straight wayward ones and the Cards have something cooking here in the 1st.

Holliday- Whiffs on a 2-2 low one....the ball briefy eludes Hanigan but not far enough for either of the runners to advance.

Craig- Grounds it towards Cozart at short and this could be a deuce...to Phillips for one and over to Votto stradling 1st for two....ouch!

Top of 2   Reds don't dent the scoreboard in their half of the 1st.

Yadi- Lines one right back at Bailey...who literally stabs the ball in self defense and hangs onto it for the out. Talk about a little reverse chin music!

Jay- Gets nailed on the upper thigh on a 3-2 pitch.......Jay and the Birds will take it as Jon is none the worse for the experience as he trots on down to 1st without a hitch in his step.

Wong- Oh oh....grounds in down to Frazier at 3rd...over to Phillips at 2nd for one and the fleet footed Wong beats the throw to 1st to keep things alive here in the 2nd.

Descalso- Pops it up in front of the plate where Bailey briefly has a notion to camp under the ball, but he wisely gives way to the advancing Frazier from 3rd who handles it for the out.

Cards 0    Reds 0
