How many years is "several"years?  I thought he could only play 1B.

To say the least, very interesting lineup and perhaps a little roll of the dice by MM. Freese batting clean up, has he had great success against this pitcher in the past?

He saw time in RF in 2011. Last time he played LF was in 2008. He's got very limited outfield time.

It's makes a whole lot of sense to start Peterson. A lefty is on the mound for the Friars and Peterson is a lefty-dominate hitter. Like to see how does with a few at bats against a southpaw.

Peterson has less than 30 games in the OF in almost 1,200 career minor league games and none since becoming a Cardinal last August.

Again, I don't get what the Cardinals are doing. If they had an idea they might use Peterson in the OF in St. Louis, why didn't they get him some time out there with Memphis first? Hopefully, he will be ok out there, but if not, they didn't really give him a fair chance to prepare, IMO.

Freese batting fourth? Oh well hopefully he would keep the dp's down to 1 a game.

I don't know what to say about Carpenter after that double. The man can flat out handle the bat.

Freese had two RBI but then committed a baseball sin, making the first out at third base.
BTW, Shannon just spoke another parable. And I quote, "You can't take the smell out of horseradish."

Big strikeout looking of Everth Cabrera to end the 7th with Cards up 3-2.

Would bringing Johnson or Cruz better than letting Jay bat against the lefty?
