Marcum just throw over 100 pitches on Sat. in that long extra inning game the Mets played. Would expect to see a change in the Mets starter announced today or tomorrow.

Also if Westbrook does well today - he could be back as soon as Friday for the Marlins series. i would imagine Wacha performance Tuesday will play into if it he or Lyons who is removed from rotation. I strong outing by Wacha Tuesday and I think it is Lyons who is bumped. A poor outing by Wacha and I bet Wacha is sent back to Memphis.

Or, they could send one of the bullpen rookies down and move Lyons or Wacha to the bullpen - Lyons would give us a third lefty (assuming we keep Siegrist, and a luxury we haven't had in relief since - I think - Dayley/Horton/Perry in the mid 80's). Wacha going to the bullpen would allow us to keep his inning count down.

Marcum isn't pitching Tuesday, he's pitching on Friday according to the Mets broadcasters.

Mets are blowing up their roster just before we come in to town.  Sent down Ike Davis, Mike Baxter and Pitcher Robert Carson to AAA.

Wonder who they are calling up.  There was some rumbling about d'Arnaud earlier this week.

Jerry I tuned in yesterday for a couple innings of the Mets-Marlins to watch the 20 year old Cuban pitch for the Marlins and to see Harvey. 2 fine young pitchers, anyway the Mets announcers were talking that D'Arnaud has injuried foot that is in a boot and will be out of action for quite awhile yet.

They were talking about bringing up the top pitching prospect Wheeler, that could be a possibility.

Almost exactly one year ago, Satin was DFA'ed and no one claimed him.

If he was a catcher, he could be batterymates with Ben Sheets.

I've seen Cowgill play before. He has quite a bit of power. He hasn't translated it to the majors though. He'll likely play some CF too. I thought he would have made a decent Justin Christian type signing this past offseason although I think Christian (and Robinson) fit our needs better.

Ike Davis is exactly the reason I like having the depth around that Matt Adams gives us this season. (He should be off limits in trades)

If Matt Adams or Allen Craig or Matt Carpenter ever just lost the ability to hit like Davis has, I love having that extra pressure of someone just as good waiting in the wings to take their spot.

Not that any of these guys are like Davis, he was just pencilled into the Mets lineup like a proven performer.

Lineup added to 1st post.

Another rain squall here in NYC as the grounds crew rushed to move the batting cage and cover the field. By the time they covered it, the rain had stopped.

Have fun in the big city hobknobbing with the high rollers.  Let us know if you see much red in the stands.

Beltran is probably getting the night off because of his trip to Puerto Rico yesterday to his baseball academy.

Well, Mo is here. Chatted with him for awhile in the dugout. He counts as a high roller, right?

Of the on-time arrivals, there is about equal red and blue. Green seats make it an easier call. Understand they are expecting a lot of those seats to remain green tonight.

Maybe we should re-think the Craig in RF scenario before he kills himself.

And that single off the wall was pujolsian.
