That is a sparkling stat. Maybe when he starts losing it...he really loses it, thus he's given a hasty hook before too much damage is inflicted? Will have to look up how many innings he's averaging per start.

As long as a loud chorus of boos don't rain down, I just may call some of the action for tonight's game. I'll take the bottom half innings. Anybody game to take the top halves?

One game suspension with an automatic appeal. So he keeps playing for now. It either gets heard or Yadi drops it to create his next day off.

Dback leadoff hitter grounds one up the middle into CF.

Next guy K swinging on a high one.

Third guy, Lance up 0-2, puts one on the black outside at the knee, called third strike.

Clean up guy.  Lance up 0-2

2-2, several fouls

more fouls, pitch count 18

looping liner, the Kozmatron shows off the vertical leaping ability.  Nice play.

Going to bottom of first, you got the game yet pugs?

Craig RBI single, Holliday to 2B

Yadi GIDP, Craig slow to get up at 2nd, looks OK

Dbacks get a leadoff single to center for the second inning in a row.

Runner goes, Yadi guns him down by 6 feet.

In Omaha, Boggs is through 2, 0 R, 3 H, Memphis up 2-0.

Comebacker to Lynn, 2 out

grounder to carp deep behind 1st, can't get him, man on first with 2 out

K looking ends the inning.

I gotta run pugs, try to be back later.

Bottom of 2

Freese- Just a little bit high for ball 4.....thought for a second there that the ump was going to ring him up

Jay- Soft liner at Bloomquist at 2nd....Freese dives back into 1st safely without a throw heading his way.

Kozma- Floats one out to right where Parra has it measured....takes a few step running start as he catches it giving the illusion that Freese was actually going to attempt to scoot over to 2nd.....not likely, Mr.Parra!

Lynn- Slaps a sizzler...past Goldschmidt!!....and down the line...it'll carom off the sidewall as Freese races to 3rd! Runners at the corners now for the top of the St.Louis batting order!

MCarp- Skies one out to right and this one is going to extinguish the Cardinal threat here in the 2nd.....has it to retire the side.

You call a mean game, Bling. We await patiently for your quick return. I bet Bling will be back calling the top half innings in the time it would take Lou Brock to steal 2nd on a Randy Hundley nursing a hangover.

RE: 2013 MLB game 57 thread: D-Backs at Cards: Mon 6/3

Bottom of 3

Beltran- Sends a slow roller Bloomquist's way at 2nd...over to Goldschmidt at 1st and that's 1 down here to open the Redbird 3rd.

Holliday- Coaxs a walk....Cahill's 3rd without a punchout.

Craig- On a 3-2 pitch, Craig grounds a hard liner that Goldschmidt scoops out of the dirt at 1st.....Matt's running on the play so the AZ 1st baseman's only option is to trot on over to touch 1st for just one out instead of 2.

Yadi- Hits a ground ball to the left side...that's thru and out into left for a hit!!....Craig's rounding 3rd and heading on home...ride em cowboy!!...Ross from left is going to have a shot at him.....safe!!...boy that throw beat Craig home, but the Cardinal 1st baseman somehow eluded the tag for Cardinal rin #2.....and Yadi hightails it safely into 2nd as Montero's throw is just a tad tardy!

Cahill sends a wild pitch to the backstop and Yadi will easily hoof it on over to 3rd.

Freese- Scorches a hotshot grounder that Prado chases down at 3rd...and his throw to 1st is wayyy late as Yadi tickles home with run #3!!

Jay- Grounds out to Bloomquist at 2nd to retire the side.

The line on Lynn thru 4 is an impressive one. He's scattered 3 measely hits....yielded no runs while walking nary a soul and whiffing 4....sweet!

It was Holliday that scored that inning, Pugs; not Craig.

RE: 2013 MLB game 57 thread: D-Backs at Cards: Mon 6/3

Bottom of 4

Pistol Pete Kozma- Bunts one a few feet directly out in front of the plate!....Cahill pounces in off the mound like a cat off a hot tin roof...hits the dirt so Montero can have a go at it....and Montero's rifle-shot to 1st just nips the streaking Kozma.....good try, Pete!

Lynn- Rolls one of the routine variety out to Bloomquist, where the Diamondback 2nd baseman has been a very busy man tonight....lobs it on over to Goldschmidt at 1st and that's 2 down.

MCarp- Lines one towards the gap in left-center for a hit!!....Ross skids on his knees to handle it and Matt will check in at 2nd with a double....can this guy hit or what? He seemingly is getting better with each passing game.

Beltran- Belts a base hit to right!....Parra is charging in like a bull to get it....Carpenter waves goodbye to 3rd base and heading home.. we're going to have a play at the plate.....safe!!! I don't know who's teaching these Cardinal runners how to slide, but whoever it is desearves a healthy little raise...4-0.

Holliday- Singles to center!...Beltran has to stop at 2nd....let's get some more sugar here at the expense of Mr.Cahill!

Craig- Hits a little nubber that Cahill will grab on a hop....underhands his throw to Goldschmidt at 1st and that will retire the side.
