Looking forward to seeing Lyons toss again today.  Hopefully we can sweep and then win at least two of three from Arizona and have a ton of momentum going into Cincinnati next weekend.

Got a lineup yet?

So will the 4th game be rained out then? biggrin

It's one of those oddities in the schedule where we play 3 at their place and 4 at ours.

Ratsbuddy I believe it is a 4 game series against the d backs.

See Beltran is getting the day off and Adams with the start at 1b.

Is it possible that the Cardinals field the slowest 1 thru 8 line-up in baseball and yet have the best winning percentage in both leagues?

Reds not making it easy to pull away...they put up a 4 spot in the 1st against pitt.

Wow! Quick fuse there.  Seen hundreds of players spike helmets like that without being ejected.  Wonder if there will be a suspension?

That moronic ump has to be reprimanded for that foolish decision. The value of yadi is so obvious when you see the entire coaching staff holding him back to make sure he doesn't get himself suspended by making contact with that dumba** ump. Matheny a very nice job of boxing yadi out while still giving the ump hell

RE: 2013 MLB game 56 thread: Giants at Cards: Sun 6/2

Here's the thing. The helmet slam wasn't a response to the call but seeming frustration for not busting it out of the box. He even had a questioning look on his face when he got thrown out. He didn't really react agressively until Fagan said something to him. This wasn't a case where he immediately went after the umpire. Even after knowing he was ejected he looked like he was going to walk away.

I disagree. He waited until after the ump made the call before SLAMMING his helmet as hard as he could right next to the ump. He may be upset over the running or whatever, but he clearly "lost it" once the ump made the call.

I don't think he realized right away that he was being ejected either.

That's exactly it.  He was mad at himself and not showing up the ump.  I hope mlb looks at the whole thing, including what, if anything, the ump said.  Hopefully it will just be a fine, but I am not optimistic.

Yadi needs a break anyway. I guess Rob Johnson will get a call up if Yadi is suspended?

I guess it's the right move because Lyons had lost his control but Choate just came in to pitch to a lefty and gave up a 2 run double.

I would say so yes.

Choate has been effective as of late but it looks like Belt got him today.
