A 0.00 era vs one of 15.63? This game has "15-0 Cards" written all over it. I'll be there, calling all of the action tonight....well only half actually. I'm calling dibs on the top(Cardinal)half innings, which leaves the door wide open for either Ducky, Mr.Perkins or our newest PBP poster, the esteemed Bling, to call Mr.Lyons' first ML game....and it trusts to be a dandy! It was most refreshing to see Bling grab the bull(mic) by the horns(mic stand) last evening and put forth the effort that he did. Words cannot begin to describe the kind of job that he performed.

Sure would be nice to come up with a win tonight and take 2 of 3 from the Padres.  Surely the Dodgers are going to get their act together before long so this weekend at Chavez Ravine worries me.  If we can get the W tonight and then win at least one in L.A. i will be happy.

Kelso getting the start tonight?  After his big game last night i expect to see him out there again.  Maybe he will hit another grand slam?

If Tony was still here DD would be benched. (too much light away from himself) I fear that Mike is of the same ilk. We shall see.

Will be watching every pitch from Lyons. I predict that Burch Smith will pitch about a 2 hitter against us before returning to earth. But Cards win 1 to 0.

If Freese is healthy, Freese should start over Descalso. Descalso is a utility infielder.

You are too kind pugs.  I am the Kip Wells of PBP.  A last desperate gasp only to be considered as the extinction asteroid enters the atmoshere.

Ankiel's 3rd hit of the day, a triple to left center, for the Mets ties it at 4-4 with two outs in the bottom of the 7th at Shea Stadium.  Wright then flies to short right to end the threat.

4-4 Reds and Mets heading to the 8th.  C'mon Mets, help us out for once today.

I have to work tonight until after 10 so I am out for the early innings at least. I sure would like to be able to read accounts of it, though

Reds score 3 in the 9th and win 7-4 over the Mets.  Yahoo reported something along the lines of a confrontation in the Reds dugout between Latos and Bruce.

Anyway, now we need a win tonight to stay 1.5 games ahead of Dusty's boys.

I liken you more to the Michael Wacha of PBP, Bling....that being a can't miss superstud PBP analyst. It looks like it's me and you on the call, Bling. Mr.Perkins has a sizzzzling hot date tonight and the Duckstar is still missing in action.

Every time I go to Walmart - especially in the warmer months - I fall in love.  How does a guy keep from it???

After Descalso's big night last night offensively. You have to still him back out there.

3 in the first. Lyons made his ML debut as a batter before ver throwing his first ML pitch, due to our batting around. Got good wood on it, too.

Top of 1      Rookie hurler, Smith, manning the mound for SD
Partly cloudy & a very comfy 65 degrees at gametime

MCarp- Works the SD rookie for an 8 pitch free pass.

Beltran- First pitch swinging...hit high and deep to right but this one isn't going to carry into the cheap seats as Blanks has it near the wall about 10 feet off the line in fair territory....just got under that baby.

Holliday- Whacks it deep to right!!....Blanks heads wallward!!....and the ball hits off the top of the wall and the RFer Blanks doesn't have the foggiest notion where the ball is as Carpenter's rounding 3rd and heading home..he'll score as Blanks finally picks it up and Matt will easily cruise into 3rd with a run scoring triple!! I don't know if Blanks thought that ball was gone or what?....maybe he just drew a blank on where that ball hit?

Craig- Spanks a line shot past the drawn-in SS, Cabrera, and out into left, scoring Holliday with the 2nd Redbird tally!! Sweetaroo!!

Yadi- Succumbs to the outside Smith heater for strike 3.

Jay- Walks on 5 pitches.

Descalso- Rifles it on a line towards the rightfield corner and down for a hit!!....Blanks will cut it off as Craig scores.....and here comes Jon Jay steaming around 3rd....where he'll slam on the brakes with Descalso checking into 2nd with a double...3-0!! DD is on fire!!

Kozma- Intentionally walked.....bases crammed with Birds.

Lyons- Blisters a shot to left!...but right at Guzman to retire the side....that lad can stroke it, gang!

Cards 3      Pads 0

Take her away, Bling!
