Need to win two of three from the Brewers and end the homestand 7-3.  Padres are starting to play well at home and by next weekend the Dodgers could be on a roll.  I would be happy to go 3-3 next week out west.

Ya, we need to keep the pressure on Cincy and at the same time not let the Brewers gain some footing.

Not that the Brewers are close, but they are better than their record IMO.

Cincy, with six wins in a row now, is something else with Choo in their lineup.

Both the Reds and the Cardinals are going to make the playoffs. Its just a matter of who wins the division and who finishes second.

These are clearly two of the best 3-4 teams in baseball.

Ya Choo has been tearing it up, I wonder if it will last all season or not though.

I wouldn't count the Cardinals in yet.  They have a tendency to fall on their face in June and July.

You are already on record saying they will not make the playoffs, anyway. So, if they don't fall on their face in June and July, you will say it will happen in August. And if not in August, then September.

Garcia gets ahead 0-2 on Aoki and then strikes him out on the third off speed. Jean Segura takes a strike before grounding out to SS. Next guy grounds to SS on first pitch. Garcia through one on 6 pitches. Way to set the pace!

KA-BOOM!!!  freese shakes the homerun drought with a 2 out GRAND SLAM!!!  had a bad feeling that we were going to let mil off the hook with only 1 run scored, but freese makes it 5-0, woo-hoo!!!

Re: 2013 MLB game 41 thread: Brewers at Cards: Fri 5/17

Carpenter rips the second pitch up the middle for a hit. Beltran hot as blue blazes, takes a strike. Beltran called out to SS, Betancourt w/ a nicr stretch, Carp to 2nd. Holliday batting now and gives the cards the lead with another grounder through the middle,Carp scoring 1-0.

Craig to bat.Craig takes the count full before walking. Love to see that pitch count up early. Molina just itching to show Matheny never to give him any more days off ever. Base hit to right but the runner held at 3rd.
Jay now looking to help that batting average keep climbing. He fouls one off, then takes a ball. It sure seems the hitters are om Peralta. They are taking the balls and swinging at strikes. Jay proves me wrong, striking out on an off speed. Freese looking to get on track now. Even his fouls lack authority. He gets it gone to CF!!!! Grand salami
Big big Hr 5-0 Cards and Freese gets the glad hand from the crowd. Just what he needed. Now Kozma in on the hit parade as he had laundry to hang on that liner to left. Love to see the pitcher bat in the first, forget the DH!
Garcia makes him toss a few before grounding out over 2nd.
5-0 after 1!
