From everything I've heard this Wily Peralta kid is supposed to have really good stuff and appears to be hitting his stride.  This struggling offense, needs to find a way to jump on this kid early and cripple his confidence

The way the Brewers are scoring runs these days if the offense doesn't wake up this could be a long series. Then again, maybe our starting rotation can shut them back down like they did at Busch.

Same as always for the Brewers. They need the big offense to cover shaky pitching. They allowed 18 runs to the Bucs in their just completed series, but still won 2 of 3.

Perhaps we can get a nice dose of the always dependable John Axford to get our offense rolling?  I did see he has actually been pitching pretty well since being removed from the closer's role, until he reverted to from and got lit up yesterday

pretty incredible, and they actually were very close to a sweep until the last few innings of the final game.

Slappy was right, their offense is a force. But ill repeat it again, in order for them to win this division they will pretty much have to be statistically the greatest offense in the history of modern era baseball.

RE: 2013 MLB game 28 thread: Cards at Brewers: Thu 5/2

Segura is hitting .358/.408/.547/.955 with 8 SB and 1.9 WAR
Betancourt is hitting .279/.297/.570/.866 with 7 HR and 22 RBI
Gomez is hitting .367/.418/.644/1.063 with 2.3 WAR

Segura is having an MVP-worthy season so far and Ryan Braun is statistically about the third or fourth best hitter in an offense that is still lacking ARAM and CAVEMAN. They've also put up these numbers against the 7th hardest SOS. Of course it is early and those trends should not continue over 162 games, but they are still eye popping one month in.

Hopefully our rotation can cool these guys down and our offense can take advantage of Miller Park to wake up the bats.

I'd like to see the offense go off a bit.

Big series early on! Cincy gets the pesky Cubs and Pitt play the Nats possibly with Harper missing a game or 2. Taking 3-4 would be grand but a split likely leaves us no worse than tied for 1st

We'll open the show with our 0.98 ERA guy and finish up with our Bruce Sutter tribute act. Let's see what they think about that. Of course, it will help if somebody took the nerf noodles out of our bat rack.

Segura won't continue to hit quite that well obviously, but I think that young man is the real deal and gonna be quite a good SS for a long time.  But, Yuniesky Betancourt??? What has gotten into him?  We all know he isn't good and this can't continue, but he sure is hot right now

so that's close too so they aren't that much better an offense than we are. I think our starting pitching is better. We shall see.

RE: 2013 MLB game 28 thread: Cards at Brewers: Thu 5/2

hmmm, why do I feel like throwing up all of a sudden?  oh yeah. i'm watching the braves/nats game and foget to switch to the Washington announcers.

I feel the need to share that I hate the braves (in a baseball way), their announcers, and their fans.  KOZMA INFIELD FLY!!!  ok, I feel better now.
