Sounds like Grays is looking for a little Pugs PBP action tonight if I read into his post correctly. No problemo, Grays! Not tonight, but one of these nights I'd like to accommodate our friends south of the border by calling all of the action in Espanol'. Of course I'd be regretfully remiss if I didn't factor The Duckaroo into our PBP equation, but Duck was mysteriously negligent with his duties over this past weekend. Hope Duck isn't getting ready to fly the coup again.

ha, every once in awhile the real world calls and I can't sit and pbp a cards game...lol.  although, I don't think it's a coincidence that while I was away, we lost our 1st series since our opener.

I might place a call to mr dewitt and share this info with him.  perhaps they could find a way to put me in the payroll.  for a holliday size contract i'm sure I could make every game!!!

I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I'm not really sure why we do PBP on a gameday thread anymore. I think everyone here has access to the plethora of game trackers that the year 2013 has afforded us with these days. Other than the spicy language and fun nature of it, I don't really see much use. Is that the reason we do it? Care to enlighten me if there are other purposes?

Isn't the reason that some people enjoy the banter good enough? I certainly would not discourage people from posting about the Cardinals here.

I didn't think anyone needed it either, until I started to get multiple thank you's from fellow posters.  sometimes folks are just somewhere where they can't get to a game tracker, and enjoy the updates, or like to get quickly caught up if they missed the first few innings of a game.

if others appreciate it, i'll keep it up, though sometimes I prefer to sit back and enjoy the game without providing the updates.  which is why it's so nice that a few of us rotate the job.

Cool. Thanks. I didn't really start following game threads until Brian started standardizing them last year or the year before.

Re: 2013 MLB game 25 thread: Reds at Cards: Mon 4/29

If given that opportunity, I have little doubt that Mr. DeWitt would just put a check in front of you and say "DuckStar...just fill in the blanks how ever you see fit". Just a quick aside. Notice how both Ducky and I put a "Mr." before the Cardinal owners name? Addressing the Cardinal owner so formally has nothing to do with how much loot the man has. I think it only right to address the man shining your shoes at the airport with "Mr."(if you knew his name) or "sir" if he was older than you. As rule, I never call someone younger than myself "sir"....I don't care if the man was the President of the United States, if he's younger than myself, no "sirs" would be muttered.....though in that rare circumstance I do believe I could muster up a "Mr. President" for the occasion.

Ducky has received many many a "thank you" for his PBP prowess. I'm still waiting for my first one. What does that tell us?...maybe I should have my wife start posting from her computer possibly.

If you would have paid attention (unlike High School), you would remember that you have received many thanks over the years.

Keep the PBP going, folks.

I must be blind then....but I'm taking that as a PBP affirmation...Thanks, Forschster!!! To celebrate, there will be no PBP horseplay on my part tonight. I'm simply going to dig my nails in and call a solid serious game tonight! Hey, Duckarooski...your call...you want to call top or bottom half innings tonight?

Wiggy in as Beltran sits. In my opinion this month is make or break for Ty. I know he was given a two year contract but at some point don't you have to cut bait with a guy that is this bad? This has to be the worst player in the league not named Brett Wallace. Oh that's right Wallace has been demoted. I stand corrected. In this day and age roster spots are at a premium and i just don't see how you can carry a player this bad, it hurts our chances big time b/c there is no one else to go to on this team. Also i wonder if they are not better served by calling up Johnson nd sending Cruz down where he can actually play. Cruz has 3 AB's all year.

GO CARDS!

Funny, Duckstar! I think you are forgetting that you are a pretty tough act to follow...call it bordering on the impossible. One might liken it to Ed "Too Tall" Jones attempting to step in to pinch hit for Stan Musical...it's just not a happening thing. But, I'll give it the ol' college try.....does any brave soul out there want to step in for Ducky for a few innings tonight?

I would help you Pugs if you want to pay for a year of directtv so that I can get FoxSportsMidwest.

I agree about Wigginton. Cruz's three at bats all year tell me that Molina needs some rest.
