Another five scoreless innings from Jon Gast. I wonder what's going on there?

Then, in game two we have three relievers putting up zeros. (They must have heard about the bullpen problems St. Louis is having.)

I'd be interested what he is doing different.  Does he have a new pitch?  Simply locating better?  Changing speeds better?

Mike O'Neil had himself a day - 6-6 with 2 walks.   Raised his BA .059 (now hitting ,338) and upped his OBP for the season to nearly .480

Scott Gorgen couldn't make it out of the fourth inning for PB.  Has anyone checked to see if he's related to Mitchell Boggs?

UCONN!!! Now don't hit me, UCONN....but that's something Nathan would say. I wonder if a little of Nate isn't rubbing off on us all? I guess I could think of worse things.

If the reports are true. Can't wait to see him consistently attack the zone in the majors.

I don't know if it's true, either, but I have also seen that callup mentioned on another forum.  I assume we'll get more details (if any) within the next few hours.

Just the name "Man"ess commands respect. No offense ladies, but it's a heck of a lot more imposing to batters than if the back of his Jersey was graced with the name "Womaness".

Re: Minor league thread: Sun 4/28 / Maness call up rumor

The original source of the Maness rumor appears to be his former youth league. As of yet, I have seen no one confirm it, yet plenty of people are assuming it is fact. Adding to the speculation is the fact that Maness and Carlos Martinez did not pitch yesterday in their teams' doubleheaders as had originally been expected.

Do we take from this that Martinez is heading north too, Brian?

There is the possibility it could be more than just sending guys down and calling guys up.

P.S. Springfield has an 11 AM game and in their media notes released this morning, they still list Martinez as their starter.

Or a three way, that's my favorite.
