Stan Musial passes

Knew it was coming sooner rather than later. He was 92. It was still too soon for me.

God bless and sorry for the loss of the greatest Cardinal.
McCarver once said that no one wanted to play bad in front of Musial. Total class and I never heard a bad word said about him.

Great Grandfather managed him. Sad day. Will miss the playoff games with him being in attendance.

Seeing him throw out the first pitch to Gibby in 2004 is my favorite Busch Stadium memory. RIP, Stan.

If you grew up in STL, he was very likely one of the first civic/sports/celebrity heroes you were ever indoctrinated into. My grandfather literally loathed the game of baseball - ran it down whenever he could.
Somehow, he knew a lot of Musial facts and always said there was no finer gentleman than Stan.
Stan did it the way it was supposed to be, and represented himself and everywhere he was from (Danora, the Navy, STL, Cooperstown) with nothing but class.
Musial's decency, consistency and success both on and off the field will forever live in this fan's heart.
I sure hope the hosts of heaven learn to tolerate the harmonica!

A sad day for not only the Cardinal Nation but for Baseball in general.
While in mourning we should celebrate not only the man but the ballplayer 2nd. That guy was a machine. His #'s from 46-58 we're insane. Heck of a rep for the game as a person as well.
