Happy Thanksgiving to All
A very Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, posters and lurkers.
I hope you are able to spend the day with those you love. It's been a bit of a tough year in the UConn household but we will all be together on Thursday and that's what counts.
Blessings.
Tough times don't last long but tough people do - Darryl Kile

Keep swingin' UConn--that's the only way to pull out of a slump!
Happy Thanksgiving (AND, Black Friday too). We hope to have our granddaughter with us for the first time, at our Thanksgiving meal.

Indeed. Happy Thanksgiving to UCONN, Mags, our great leaders consisting of Brian, Mike, the above mentioned UCONN......I'm missing a moderator here......and of course the glue that keeps this machine churning.....the wonderful group of posters who inhabit The Cardinal Nation. We'd also be remiss if we didn't mention our 3 comrades presently in absentia as well, as this marks our first Turkey Day without Diz, Easton and Austin. Spring training isn't far off as just today I spotted a gaggle of wild geese cruising the skies up here in The Frozen Tundra......or maybe it's because it's still in the 50's around here?

I have no information to support this pugs but id bet at least two of those three are still around under different names, maybe taking a less active role on the board...what ever happened to kotheb? I liked him...happy thanksgiving if you guys are around! And to everyone here...

Re: Happy Thanksgiving to All
Happy Thanksgiving to all, new for this year my older brother and his family are coming up from Texas to spend the holiday with us, haven't seen them in like 2 years. I wish that my little brother could be here to but being stationed in England kind of makes it hard, unlike my older brother being stationed in Texas, both brothers are in the Air Force. Again happy turkey day to all!!! I'll go now....................................

RE: Happy Thanksgiving to All
Our other mod is Gagliano, who like UConnCard and BikeMike does important work behind the scenes to keep the board running smoothly. kotheb remains very busy with his residency and because of it, doesn't have the time to stop by very often these days.
I have so much to be thankful for and I consider this group among them. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving to All
Thanksgiving is my favorite day of the year. Whats not to love? Family, Football, Beer and Turkey. And lets not forget PIE. Ummmmmmmm! Pie! Apple, Blueberry, Pecan, Peach, Key Lime, Blackberry and of course Pumpkin. Maybe one of Uconns cakes for desert? Pictures with my Mom, Sisters and Niece (everyone looking sharp), sitting around after you eat talking about "remember when?" The smell of coffee brewing and pie as you listen to the late game from the other room. " Jackson to the thirty, the twenty, the ten, TOUCHDOWN! Good times are made of days like these people. Enjoy! Peace and Love to all!
GO CARDS!

I don't believe I forgot Gags! Truth be told, Gags plays a prominent role in my will when that sad day arrives. Hopefully Gags will one day find it in his heart to forgive me for my hideously glaring omission?

Re: Happy Thanksgiving to All
This feat is so astounding that it even deserves comment on a baseball board. Last night, sophomore guard Jack Taylor of Grinnell College(Iowa) poured in an amazing 138 points en route to a 179-104 lambasting of rival Faith Baptist Bible. Taylor nailed 27 3-pointers and went 52 of 108 overall from the field. Taylor scored his 138 points in 36 minutes of play. I don't know about you guys, but I'm fairly confident that I couldn't score 138 points in 36 minutes out back in my driveway with just me, my basketball and my hoop in attendance.

Yeah, Pads. The dude must be quite the ballhog. I was such a terrible shooter in high school that I was always afraid to take just one shot for fear of drawing nothing but air.....let alone 108 of them. I bet I could down more shots than this Taylor fellow though.....but probably not 108 of them.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving to All
I remember a few years back Grinnell played on ESPN. It was the most ridiculous basketball I had ever seen. Run and gun with absolutely zero defense played. I swear all that team must do in practice is run sprints and shoot treys.

Coach Dale of "Hoosiers" fame would roll over in his grave at the thought of such basketball, 5129. It would be kind of fun to watch though....especially with a player rolling up 138 big ones single-handedly.

RE: Happy Thanksgiving to All
Happy hollidays to all. We again have four generations in house for the festivities. We'll reduce a 23 pounder to skeletal remains. Drain the quarter barrel I just put on ice. This year we kicked off the festivities by going out to the Fabulous Fox theater last night to see Blue Man Group then a late dinner at Mike Shannons. Off to a good start.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! In a related note, I saw that the Pirates signed Felix "Pumpkin" Pie.

RE: Happy Thanksgiving to All
Iirc Grinnell plays up tempo basketball where everybody plays and shoots like crazy every game, their idea is to just outscore everybody, so the guy really wasn't a ballhog, it probably became the thought of how high can he go score wise after awhile...and remember that a guy on the losing side scored like 70 something as well...I'll go now....................................

Another player went off for 70 points in that game!!! I don't think we're looking at one ballhog in this game either.....we're looking at 2 of them! I just looked up "ballhog" in the unabashed latest Webster dictionary and lo and behold......there were no words written.....just a photo of Grinnell sophomore shooting sensation Jumpin Jack Taylor.

The Grinnell coaching job, like the Cubs managing job, is a better job than the Cardinals managing job! Rat
