Fangraphs Cardinals Top 15 Prospects

Didn't see this posted anywhere.

Cardinals Top 15 Prospects

Very very interesting list. 6 of the top 15 were drafted last year. Wacha #2?

I probably like Wacha more than most, but the top pitcher in the system - ahead of Miller, Martinez and Rosenthal? That seems premature.

thanks for the link, a great read.  very encouraging, especially for those of us who suffered through some horrible early 2000's drafts.

the scouting dept has done a wonderful job and the cardinals seem to have a pipeline of high quality baby birds flowing to st. louis for years to come.

Looks like Fan Graphs really like our 2012 draft. Very encouraging. Hope everyone keeps posting ranking lists as they show up.

Honestly right now having Wacha ahead of  Miller, Rosenthal and Martinez is not only premature it is downright stupid.

Thanks HJ.  I'll echo, it's a good read.

Surprised, like others, that Wacha is the first pitcher listed.  I think FG is still not up to speed on Rosenthal's development, given the comments of the writer.

Somewhat surprised that Ramsey was graded a "70" for CF, which was the highest grade I saw in this article.

Save Trevor and Matt, these are high draft picks (lots of them being recent ones) so I'm inclined to believe the writer had little interest/background on the names with which he was not already familiar.  i.e., he was not looking for information (from the scouts or whomever he referenced) so much as he was corroboration.
