Where Will Matt Adams End Up

Question to all here.  Where do you think Matt Adams will be come Spring 2013?

RE: Where Will Matt Adams End Up

There is a reasonable chance either Craig or Belran will be hurt or get hurt.

If the Cards are going to trade a high level top prospect, I'd hope they would trade from their strength, pitching, rather than from their weakness, position players who rake and hit for power.

So, even though Adams has nothing at all left to prove at AAA, I expect him to start there if Craig and Beltran are healthy.

I'd like to see him raise his BB% rate while raking in AAA before I bring him up.

Carpenter can handle 1B or RF just fine as well and if Beltran goes down, I think Taveras might get the call.

3. Start the year at Memphis.  Probably on the 25 man roster by June due to an injury
to Holliday or Beltran (then Craig to the outfield) Adams would  step in at first then or when Craig DL's.  XScruggs doesn't have anything more to prove at AA and will probably be at Memphis also and flipflop with Adams at first and DH.  Xavier might want to learn to play some outfield also to get a little more playtime.

The guy can flat out rake! We must not allow his mediocre play when he was up with us for that brief cup of coffee skew our opinions. His time is nearly at hand. If we don't put him over at 1st, somebody else certainly will.

O.k Pugs! Brother, Nephew or Cousin? All jokes aside Matt Adams will have a 10 year plus career in MLB. Mark it down. He has more value in the AL though due to his lumbering ways. Guy can and will hit lazers due to his short stroke and power. This guy is a sleeper. Hits with ease and that is rare. I say he plays for Matheny next year with about 300 AB's.

GO CARDS!

Plays where?  Craig has 1B locked down; Beltran has RF and Taveras is in the wings.

We could sell him to the Yankees.

Yeah Pugs, you definetly must know someone who is related or yourself being relatedwink.  I'm torn on this one.  I think the Cardinals like what they have in Matt, but they don't have a spot.  I don't know if Matt is going to like being a bench guy.  He does much better when he is playing daily and getting 3-4 at bats a game.  Tough call, but I would guess the Cardinals trade Matt in the off season.

Actually I thought he would have been dealt before the trade deadline this year.  Oh, well....

I agree except that health issues in general could play into his favor.  I would add M.Carp, Freeze, and Holiday to your list.

I also think he could be in another organization next year.

Matt Adams for Machado or Profar?  What more would it take?  I'd throw in Kozma and a pitcher (Salas?).  Still not enough? How about Matt Adams and Shelby Miller?  That might get the interest  of at least one of the teams.  TX needs the big right handed bat, but they don't need a 1B.  Baltimore might counter that proposal.  I'm not sure I would give up both of those guys, much less, those 2 plus Skip and Salas, but that might make Baltimore change their minds.

If you were Mo, would you do that deal for Machado?
