RE: Chris Duncan tumor

Here's a link to the audio. He didn't seem to have much to say about it. Just ' had a tumor removed from my head'. No details. Don't know if its something similar to his mom's condition as I've seen speculated on some message boards. Wish him well. Hope Dave is holding up.

It's the same type of tumor his mother has, but it was caught at an earlier stage.

I have some personal experience with this type of tumor.  I won't give details because I don't want to depress people.

How incredibly tragic for that family. Prayers to the Duncans.

Rooting for Chris to beat this.  He took a lot of heat when he played for the Cardinals.

Seconding UConn.  Duncan persisted in the face of a lot of difficulties.  Here's hoping for a full recovery.   And thanks for the updates.

And I never understood that as Duncan could mash when he was healthy. Plus he had great plate discipline. Back in his first couple of seasons I thought LaRussa should have put him out there every day.

He definitely earned his place, and was not there only because of his dad.

On a side note, I am in a computer baseball league where we played roughly 40 game seasons using a theme. Each project takes about 10 weeks or so to complete the regular season, then we have playofffs and World Series games that take a few more weeks.

Anyway, the current theme is rookies, so each franchise is composed of all rookie seasons. One guy on my Cardinal team is the 2006 Chris Duncan, and he's been a force for my struggling Redbirds who are off a slow start at only 7-10.

Re: Chris Duncan tumor

Great read.   Thanks JenniferMarie.  I find myself thinking of the elder Duncan when he actually did some online posting back at a Post-Dispatch forum in maybe the late 90's.  He gave it a crack, which is more than most.  And of Chris putting in the time at low-A.  Get healthy folks.
