Back to the Old?

Back to the Old?

So did they just decide to stick with the old format? Or are we going to see another change back to the new format? Anyone know whats up? This old format is definitely better and easier. Maybe because it is what we are used to. If it aint broke dont fix it right?

Re: Back to the Old?

Just adding to the continuing frustration.....on my IPad I get the "new" site but on my desktop I get the "old" site (but I was getting the new site until this morning).  I was able to log into the new site and post...those posts did not revert to the old site.

Not sure who makes the call to migrate live over to an untested beta platform....not very customer friendly.

I agree with all - got a bunch of idiots making decisions they have no right to make. We will, eventually, be migrating over to the new platform. The integration with Fox is a necessity for us all and will give us a bigger reach and more tools at our disposal. So there are positives but the negatives of the site move are weighing heavily right now.

Re: Back to the Old?

Well,I never did get in.....not once?
I tried for two full days, finally got in,but whenever I tried to "reply" or "post new message",it went to the Community Front Page?
So I thought it was the IPAd and came on the Desktop and.....here I am.On the Old board?
Was anyone able to actually post on the new board using an IPAD?

ESPN ruined their board when they changed formats and I just continued to use MadFriars because it was just a great board to post too.My heart sunk when I saw it had changed and broke when I went two days without being able to post.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see how bad it gets screwed up so it can "get better".

There are always "tons" of reasons for the change, but none that are for the posters that use it.
I'm sure it will be "better" for the advertisers....and the Moderators....and....,but when the change happens please, someone, tell us how WE benefit.
You know, the ones that log on, and look at the ads, and buy the subscriptions?

Re: Back to the Old?

I was wondering what was going on...
I'm logging in the usual way...onto the old site, and on my laptop...
I work in the computer industry, and am well acquainted with snafus when it comes to migrating websites...
hopefully, the issues here can be resoved in a timely manner, and we can get back to discussing the Padres...
disclaimer: what I write here is my opinion...and is not meant to anger, disturb, harass, annoy, upset, provoke, or otherwise harsh your mellow....

From the Powers That Be:

"I wanted to assure everyone there are no imminent plans to relaunch the new platform.

"While we are still committed to transitioning to a new and truly improved site at some point in the future, we want to ensure it's something our users and publishers will be excited to see. We have heard a number of common themes emerge about what needs to be addressed and we are listening.

"We are putting together an advisory council to consolidate publisher feedback that we will work closely with as we look to move the product forward.

"This process will take some time, but we will be in touch over the next few days with additional details."

Have some of you not been able to get into this forum lately? I've been posting on my laptop but haven't seen the "new" format since the first launch.

Re: Back to the Old?

The first week or so was a problem, then I just started redirecting my browser to that site and I guess never noticed that MadFriars was accessible again.  I was starting to get really bored just posting to myself over there hahaha blah2

Glad to see everyone still around...and new prospect rankings!! Woohoo!!

I was getting directed to the new site for awhile.....then I did a google search and found this original site that way,and now I have both.
I went to the "new" one a few times and saw Dre there...but I didn't realize you couldn't find us here!
That's hilarious....well,we missed you!wink

I wondered where some folks went.

For me....I didn't do anything but was moved to the "new" site then after a bit was moved back to this site....just thought the "new" site was disabled.

RE: Back to the Old?

The real confusion came for me because I stopped using "Madfriars" to look for it in my history and went for "Friar Fanatics" instead. Since that new site didn't seem to recognize "Madfriars", it kept taking me to the other forum. Whatevs...it's all in the past now.

Re: Back to the Old?

Hey Mr P,  just a little down on the hope at the start of the season won't repeat last April and May.  Unless we can trade for a least one quality starter it feels fairly unsettling. Sure we probably have Luebke, Wieland, and Mr. (should have been pitchin' winter ball and not getting stabbed in the hand) Casher later in the season but to open the season with Volquez, Richard, Marquis, Stults?  or Erlin, Bass, Kelly?  Yikes! Not exactly scaring any line ups in the NL West. Who is the stopper in a losing streak?
