Note some "shortcomings" in the new format from my view:
1. The "time of day" linked to the post is absent .... why is that an issue ... when I long on and go to the forms list cannot quickly tell whether the last post on any forum is necessarily a new post reply since I last logged on ... requiring me to navigate into the topic ... unnecessary navigation;
2. When entering the topic with a long number of pages you don't get to the last page (the last page is not listed as a click option on the topics page) requring addtional navigation once entered the topic;
3. As with the other format ... don't understand why the most recent post is not first post (as opposed to the last) ... basically run the topic posts from last post first and first post last ... makes navigation cleaner with quick access to the posting streams.
4. The "SAN DIEGO > FORUMS > FRIAR FANATICS" navigation bar needs to be both at the top of the page and on the bottom (as it was before) ... again streamlines the navigation process.
Knowing me I will have more issues once I start fully using the site ... but for now this is the opening volley. Note that I have a real bias towards making navigation the simplest quickest to get from point A to point B ... eliminating the unnecessary steps when they can be.
May not have any influence on the site developers but if you could pass this on it might help.

Add that on some of the topics not able to "reply" or "quote" ... but for some reason (maybe because it is mine or "new") I can.

I have had no issues with time of last post being being shown, even when not logged in, and getting to the last page of the topic. I don't now how it shows on your computer/browser, but on my it is like this
Topic1,2,3....45 (or whatever the last page is.Maybe it might have something to do with your OS or browser. I am using Windows 7 and IE 10.What are you using?

Basically they are "testing" a new format live ... clearly a new "look" but these things are a work in progress so if they are modifying some functionality there are often some "bugs" that need to be worked out like ability to "reply" or "quote" or "spell check" sometimes are not up and running when the beta version is first released ... once the "bug" is identified it is usaually corrected. Sort of why the "beta" and the regular site co-exist for a period of time before the cut over. Sometimes the "beta" version is so flawed that it gets just recalled ... pending the designers / programmers reworking it at a more basic level.
