Please do all Pad fans a favor and cut Quinten and Nelson today. I would rather watch Jason Lane or Enzo Hernandez...

Jesse Hahn: amazing again tonight.

2015 rotation:
Cashner
Ross
Kennedy
Hahn
Despaigne

All the new GM needs to do is figure out a way for us to score a couple of runs, and we'll win some games next year.

Hahn has a 1.47 ERA in the 7 starts after his bad MLB debut and has not allowed a HR in that span.

Hahn for ROY. What do all think?

There ought to be an award for the brilliant genius person who champions the best Padres prospect each year. Could you guys all chip in $20 each for that? Send it to me.

After seeing Quentin get pulled yesterday (sore knees I guess) and how he has run over the past few games …. I would not be surprised to see a DL stint coming to make room for one of the rehabbers.

I was watching some broadcast and the story was the the Phillies offered Ryan Howard to every AL team and were willing to pay a big chunk of his contract … and got no interest. That may give some indication that the Padres may have no choice but to release Quentin (and eat the rest of his deal) …. clearly the market of an oft injured, low performing DH even if the selling club picks-up the contract is just not there. As a service to the new GM, Buddy Black, the other players, and the fans … make the call now and bite the bullet on the contract. Just let Medica / Goebbert handle LF to see what we have for 2015 and move on.

Conrad should go before Nelson … neither can field but Nelson looks like he can hit a bit more … just timing since the will both go …

Well, at least Josh Byrnes made Q a happy man.

Goebbert optioned, Alonso activated off the DL.

I like Goebbert. He's got a great swing and seems to generate nice line drive power. Seems like a solid depth guy.

I guess that happens when you are the newcomer and have MiL options. LH bat for LH bat … has some logic. Should see him back in Sept if not before.

Ugh, I feel a little bad for passing judgment on Nelson so quickly, but I'm over him. I really wish we'd just promote Galvez and give him a look at 3b. I know he's got a shoddy glove, but whatever. He's already shown he can hack at AAA, so at least lets see what he can do with a bat at the big league level and go from there.

I agree--I doubt service time is ever going to be a huge issue with Galvez, so lets just see what he can do.  I'd much rather see Galvez and Peterson than Amarista and Nelson.

I thought Nelson should have thrown home to get the runner out at the plate in the 2nd instead of throwing it to first.

Despaigne isn't going to cut it if he doesn't keep the walks in check.

He was horrible in the 4th and defense was bad. Nelson muffed a routine out.

Easy Moldy, the guy has been lights out and if it were not for a couple of miscues, we wouldnt be having this dialogue...
