Re: Cincinnati Reds @ San Diego Padres (June 30 - July 2)

I know this will be a hard series, but I really am hoping we win game 1.  If we beat Latos, even if it is 2-1 might make the trade feel a little better considering Padres fans have been ripping the trade for the last few weeks.

Personally would love to see Grandal hit a HR off of him

Lineup for tonight
Smith RF
Headley 3B
Quentin LF
Grandal C
Medica 1B
Maybin CF
Cabrera SS
Ninja 2B
Hahn P

I have to admit, as much as I want to see them finish dead last in the NL, I do want to see them beat Latos. That guy is just a moron

SW's Fun Stat of the Evening:

The during the month of June, the Padres have hit .175. According to the Fox Sports San Diego broadcast, that is the worst team average they could find in MLB history.

That doesn't matter when you've got Noodles Hahn on the mound striking out 9 Reds while keeping them scoreless.

Another Fox Sports statistic: The last time a team won a game on only one hit two different times in a single season? The Dodgers in 1965. The last time before that? 1914.

I'm telling you guys... we're watching history with this team!

We won another game on one hit ???

Hilarious. Did the hit leave the infield or was it a high chopper off the plate ?

If Despaigne and Hahn continue to do well, I can't see how they could send one back down when Cash returns. I gotta believe Stults is the odd man out, unless Kennedy is traded. But, I'd rather Stults is traded.

The Padres are 2-0 on the second half

If Cash returns quickly, I think Hahn goes down, even as good as he's been... he really needs to work on a 3rd pitch, and he's not going to do it in MLB games when he's getting everyone out with the curve first time they see him....

I have to think Kennedy or Ross gets traded.  Kennedy would make much more sense to trade.
Would love to see Stults salary dumped too, but have to have enough healthy options to do so.

Bullpen is same GOOD problem.  Quack & even Boyer are pitching fantastic!  Who goes down when Vincent & Patton are ready to return?  I'd like to see Stauffer get traded too.  ANY FA for next year, clear the decks now.

I bet the Rays are wishing they had traded Price and kept Hahn.
They would have received a lot more than Forsythe and may not be in last place right now.
Nice trade by our GM.
Err.......Ex GM.

2-0 in the second half
Vaulted into 3rd place in the NL West (tied with Colo)
"Only" 8 1/2 games out of a wild card slot

Start printing the playoff tickets biggrin

It was a line drive, and it was a legit hit.

We got to be proud of those few hits we get.

A thing of beauty she was! Crisper than a stalk of freshly picked celery. Sweeter than the forbiddenest fruit. Sailed through the air like a hawk after a dove. Made sweeter music than Mozart after 10 hours sleep.

Do you want a win or more than four hits?
We may not win very many but when we do they aren't exciting!

I am so happy with the way Hahn has been pitching I think I'd rather they just go ahead and shut him down.
Send him to Az to work on the Change and/or Slider to go with that devastating 12-6 #2 he's got!
I don't think i could handle it if he was to end up with "Elbow soreness"!
Ugh!
