12-Step, here we come.

12-Step, here we come.

You guys are awesome.

The 2014 Padres suck. I mean, they really suck. After seeing Amarista and Gyorko last night, I thought about becoming a Dodgers fan. (Simmer down there, it's called hyperbole.)

If I were Ian Kennedy, or Tyson Ross (or, hell, even Eric Stultz), I'd refund the Padres' money and ask to be released. Or even outrighted to Triple-A. Maybe there, they'd have a chance at notching a "W."

I know it's just a rough patch the guys are going through. (Albeit, a third-of-the-season-long rough patch.) And I guess it wouldn't be a Padres season if the team wasn't 10 games out by the end of May. But the truly amazing part to this story is, we all continue to punish ourselves. We watch. We cringe. We pick ourselves off the ground and do it again. Night after night. Like Zombies taking lead to the body. We just keep coming. (Where's the double-tap when you need it?)

I've never heard of a program for Padres fans like us. But it may be time for one.

Serious question:  When is the last year that the Padres were still in contention in June ?  Seems like it's been a while
This Team makes me Drink !

2010 was the last real year, obviously. There may have been a stretch in one of the years since we've been able to *barely* talk about contention, but never realistically.

And level, isn't what this board is for? I know it's definitely my support group... well, most of the time. Sometimes a few folks around here also want to make me pull my hair out. But that's how it works, right?

This is why my wife just looks at me and shakes her head when I get disgusted at what's happening on the field.
She's like, "Every year, you think they're going to be good.  Why don't you pick a team that actually IS good??"
She doesn't get it.

That's where you just have to turn to her, take her hands in yours, look into her eyes and just say "Honey, I can't choose who or what I fall in love with. It's just fate."

And then she sighs and smiles and thinks "wow, I think I get it."

And then you turn back to the game and say "That said, it'd be great to fall in love with a beer right now."

Actually, maybe don't say that last part....

+1
I can't imagine any other place- anywhere!- where we, the desperate, destitute, and downtrodden Padre fan, can come to share our hopes and dreams for our favourite baseball team( only , of course , to have them shattered year in and year out!)
But hey, there's always next year!biggrin

GO PADRES!

I think we're a playoff (if not World Series) team next year.
We are going to be awesome.
I can't wait!

Good point, Sport. This is a support group. Sort of.

But I'd like to lodge a formal complaint. I still haven't received my coin. If anyone see it, you'll know it. It will have a "45" stamped on it.

No matter how bad they are, I will always root for them.  They are my team, love them or hate them.
