Ouch...tough being an Astro fan right now.  I could've sworn I heard that their payroll was in the high teens (between 18-19 mil ?) and that there were like 23 individual players that get get paid more per year than the entire Astro team.

The total might have jumped a bit when Bedard and Cedeno made the team and it includes the two DL players.  No matter....that is ugly.  MLB (and the players' union) don't seem to be making a big issue of it....yet.  When long time Houston resident and Astro Fan (Jim Crane) purchased the team a couple of years ago...fans were optimistic...whoops!

Side note: Houston is paying the $22MM for the active roster BUT they are paying Wandy Rodriguez (who they dealt to Pitt last year) $5MM....their highest paid player is Bud Norris at $3MM.
