VS. Mets

VS. Mets

Not sure if there is a thread open.  Nice to see Gyorko get his first hit.  Alonzo hits a home run.  After that not a lot to get excited about. A complete pitching breakdown.  Volquez needs to lose that gold necklace if he is going to pitch that poorly.

Didn't watch the game, but Bass's line (3.0 IP, 3H, 1ER) is not too terrible. That's another "positive" from today, I guess. (I know I'm reaching here.)

Get well soon, Chase.

Get well Cory Luebke.  Geesh Volquez as our #1?   Would be nice if we don't get buried alive before the end of May.

Well, at least we didn't get beat by ten runs.  That would have been embarrassing....

I watched the game. Bass did not look good. Alonso and Gyorko looked bad before their respective hits. Quentin is a real liability in the field. Cody Ransom is a joke and I'm sure Gyorko will play a lot of 3B until Headley gets back.

Got to hope for a bounce back tomorrow because yesterday was ugly.

Brad Bach sucks. Seems like everytime he comes in, he gives up runs. At least every time i watch him. Maybe I'm the problem.

Good to see Alonso connect for a hr. If he develops in to a power guy, would be nice to have a 3, 4, 5 of Headley, Quentin, and Alonso.

Must be you......and me!
Cause I said the same thing yesterday and others came to his defense with numbers stating otherwise?
All I know is that when he's in the game.....runners are crossing the plate.
Maybe not his runners.....maybe his,I don't know.
Numbers or no numbers,I have noticed the same thing Halo.

Well for those who like numbers, in 2012 based on WAR from FANGRAPHS, for qualified RP (about 48+ innings to be qualified) Brach was #132 out of 136 with a -0.7 WAR.  I don't think that is a good thing.

You're welcome Mets fans!
The Padres are making a bad Mets team look really, really good.

When are we going to start pitching, hitting, playing defense, and running the bases?

When hell freezes over. When all women look like super models. When North Korea is our friend.  When pigs fly. When we buy mlb 2013 and pump up every padres players stats. Then we actually sign are good players to contract extensions.

I have to give credit to Harvey, he is a beast.  At least they scored a few runs tonight.

Re: VS. Mets

I was surprised to see Stults as the third starter.  I thought he earned the fourth starter position for what he accomplished for us last year but to see him a step above is nice.

He had a sub 3.00 ERA and while his WAR was unimpressive, his 8-3 w/l record and ERA+ of 125 was very nice.  My prediction for him this season if he stays with us all year and is healthy is at least 12 wins.  Honestly, I'd rather see him pitch then Volquez.

I'm glad we weren't swept.

Go Padres!!!!!!!

RE: VS. Mets

jeez, am I glad they won a game...
the natives here [what there was of them] were certainly restless...after two games!...
expectations seem to be pretty high for this team.
what's up with that?
do we really expect this team to contend this season?
anyhow, happy to see a well pitched game [Stults, who probably will be a decent performer for this team this season], good defense and just enough offense...
at least they're not going to go 0-162, and everyone can relax now...and maybe enjoy some baseball...
disclaimer: what I write here is my opinion...and is not meant to anger, disturb, harass, annoy, upset, provoke, or otherwise harsh your mellow....
