New site up
Things are still porting over and the redirects aren't set-up quite yet, but if you want to check out the new site and start getting familiar with it, it's up: http://www.foxsportsnext.com/m...-athletics.htmlRemember, this site will be disappearing soon, so if there are any posts from the past week you want to save, please do so now.

Re: New site up
So our post counts don't count anymore? We all have the same badge title...1st round draftee . I worked my way through the minors, to the majors, to the HOF, to the front office already mannnn...

Re: New site up
Looks like some things are still getting worked out? The avatars havent moved yet-- either that or we have to post, first.
The designs of the threads are fine, but the main page with all of the topics looks awful-- too much blank space, and just black and white. I do like the sound of the new features though.

Re: New site up
Actually the post counts did factor into the rankings. Freshman is the lowest level badge. First round pick is actually pretty high up the chain.

RE: New site up
This may be a stupid question, but do the same usernames transfer over? Or do I need to actually sign up? I tried logging in with my current username and password, but it wouldn't let me.

The avatars are there, but I think you have to go into your settings and click on it once to get it to appear. The roll-out process is definitely still in progress, so you may see some site weirdness for the next day or so.

The launch process can take a little while to get settled on the servers, so you may not be able to login right away, but it should work soon.

It's now case sensitive, so if you were used to typing in your username without the caps, you can either start using the caps or use your email address as the login.

RE: New site up
Every time I try to open a thread, the browser crashes. Well it was nice knowing you all. Can't see how I'll be able to keep on participating regularly now.

Re: New site up
Ew. Big ads on right. No. Ew.
Question: when I go to reply to something, it takes me to a Fox Sports Digital Sign In page, and my regular sign in seems to not work there. Do I also have to sign up with Fox Sports digital?

I'm not sure that site is going to work on my pathetic work computer.

Re: New site up
I haven't tried it yet, but as someone else mentioned. the intelligent thing it seems, would have been to make this changeover AFTER the baseball season. I already have to use two different browsers for this site ... IE and firefox ... depending what I need to do. In fact, I can rarely use firefox, because my screen gets all screwed up when I do. When I need to post an url, have to use IE ... it's plain crazy, but I know it has something also to do with my pc ... I think. But I envision perhaps a number of us being unable to easily post during the playoffs which will make for unhappy campers.

Re: New site up
Looks like "1st round draftee" is where you max out? Only takes a couple hundred posts to get there? Am I wrong?
High fives?
Oh well, I'll miss it here. Wish there was some way to keep it from disappearing, or maybe have somebody open another site with a similar layout? Reminds me of A's Nation and raiderfans.net. I guess I just enjoyed posting on this board partially because of the old school layout.
It's cool that there's stats now, couple other features, but I'll miss this board. Wish we could postpone this to the postseason.

Re: New site up
We should have a vBulletin baseball forum.
I don't really like the format of the new forum. This one is at least bearable.

Re: New site up
Just checked it. Simply put, I do not like it. Maybe I need to give it a chance, but right off it looks more cumbersome and not as poster friendly as this site. Also, I don't recall whether we signed the same privacy policy when we came in here; but I don't like that they share personal info. Am I misreading something? Very disappointing ... up front, anyway. Just want a simple poster friendly forum; I'm not seeing it with this change. Maybe I'll think differently after trying it, but up front, anyway, not liking what I see.

Re: New site up
This forum software is fairly primitive and yet somehow the new forum is even worse, IMO.
Oh well, the attraction to this site is the community of people, so I guess it's not the biggest deal in the world. I also second the regret that the new site doesn't use vBulletin.
