Re: 9/22 vs Yankees

I'd rather have Gomes in for Carter at DH, or at least have Carter lower in the order, since Carter has been so horrible.

Hope he makes me eat my words though.

Reddick moving down in the order = great, of course.
The team seems to really miss having Coco in the lineup though.

I like the lineup; not much choice at #1 slot with Coco still out.  Too bad.  Sometimes ... probably more often than not ... the mgr goes with his gut; hope it's right with re to Carter.  Hoping they can revert back to the success in the past with both Moss and Carter in there.  Also hoping Reddick can pick it up in the lower slot.

Re: 9/22 vs Yankees

this is just as big a must win as thursday. dont want to go into sunday having to avoid a sweep + relying on straily/milone 1st games in texas.

sadly yesterday was winnable, scherzer left early in detroit, and verlander was shaky too...3 winnable games if they had any hitting

Agreed on all points, oaklady.  Looks as if Carter's hit that period where he's slumping, as most big leaguer's do.  Hopefully, he can snap out of it and get back to doing the things that made him successful.

The thing that separates the good from the rest is good hitters can snap out of a slump and get hot.  Definitely a must win.  Should make for a good game.

Re: 9/22 vs Yankees

Donaldson needs to be hitting #5 in this lineup. Carter has failed at least three times this past week to get a run in from 3rd with less than 2 outs.

RE: 9/22 vs Yankees

How and the hell do you call a balk on that play. Somethings telling me Vanover's Facebook page needs to be investigated. May be a picture of him tailgating at Yankee stadium with an A-Rod jersey on floating around somewhere.

RE: 9/22 vs Yankees

The real question is how does that call not get overturned by the other umpires and/or instant replay?

I smell a Tyson Ross early appearance today.

RE: 9/22 vs Yankees

The balk call was of course huge. Funny how one call can change everything.....then again three walks (so far) in one inning haven't helped.
So bring your good times and your laughter too
We're gonna celebrate and party with you

Who looked worst in the first inning, Chris Carter, Larry Vanover, or Blackley?

Re: 9/22 vs Yankees

Blackley looking bad but getting no help from infield defense. Why couldn't this be the game that Parker pitched?

Re: 9/22 vs Yankees

Blackley looks terrible - we are lucky it's not 10-2 at this point. They need to get him out of there if they want a chance at this game.
