Yeah, that lineup is more like it. Except Reddick.

I wonder how many posts of "preventing runs is as important as creating runs" nonsense is spouted in defense of Reddick being in the lineup, as if outfielders generally have equal opportunities to "prevent" runs as they do to "create" them.

UZR quantifies the runs prevented. In 150 games, Reddick has saves about 20 runs which equates to about 2 WAR.

Its called a fact. I made no statement of support of Reddick. If you'd like to provide your own facts or interpretations of facts, that would be a lot more valuable than "der... defense don't make wins".

This is a person who likes to throw around the phrase "professional hitter" with absolutely no evidence or facts to show what exactly a "professional hitter" is.

I see our dark cloud has returned from whatever rock it was under. It was a nice break of several weeks while we were excelling not to have to read that BS on a daily basis.

I just wanted to note that the title of this thread and the first sentence made me laugh.

I guess now is as good a time as any to see if Reddick still has anything to offer besides defense, and Vogt being limited doesn't help things, it just happens to be during an overall funk with this team's ability to produce with runners on base.

UZR uses subjective observation (e.g. ARM) and offers an objective rating based on those analyses.  It's a nice little footnote, but unreliable at best.

so no, UZR is not a FACTUAL.  Citing it suggests you put too much credence in it to begin with.

Let's see if the outcome of the challenge supports that.

No panic around here. At least not widespread.

Houston is just begging to be beat. BEGGING! And yet we show no urgency to put them out of their misery.

Missed in the challenge and anger we didn't score, was that was some great baserunning by Jaso.  He beat the throw at second when I think a throw to third gets Coco.
