In the meantime, I keep having this horrible thought.  Arte Moreno wants to make another splash (like he did with Hamilton's signing).  Could it be making a deal for Price?  Wouldn't surprise me.  Someone tell me that is absurd. frown  I'm hoping TB keeps winning and get back in the race soon.

If TB really did turn down a deal w/ Russell for Price, I have a hard time seeing the Angels being able to make an offer that will be able to get him.

After reading through last night's game thread, let me be pro-active and save some of you the trouble of typing:

Our offense sucks. We need another bat. Our pitching is tired. We suck. Our team is tired. Coco needs to suck it up. We have no shot of winning in the playoffs. The Angels are better. We are over-rated. We suck. The front office is failing the team and the fans. We have no hope. Everyone keeps talking about blue skies, but all I see are dark clouds. Jim Johnson sucks. We suck. Eric Sogard sucks. Andy Parrino sucks, but not as much as Sogard. Steven Vogt is exciting. We suck.

Think that should about cover it for the next three hours. Excuse me while I go enjoy the game and root for our first place team.

What a joke of a first inning. Both Jaso and Vogt get themselves out on 3-1 pitches and Cespedes proves he's the new Mr. Swing-at-Everything. Seems like a no-brainier to take a 3-1 pitch leading off a game when your offense has been sputtering badly all series.

Gray had better throw a shutout today or the A's are going to get swept.

And Gray throws away the pickoff attempt, putting a runner at third with one out. There goes the shutout. When these guys suck, they really ******* suck.

See you in second place.

This is where I miss Crisp. He's usually a smart AB when the team needs it, and he disrupts the opposing pitcher's rhythm. I guess none of the other guys have taken note.

Once through the order and the only guy with a good AB is Andy Parrino. Craig "Weak Fly" Gentry had a brain dead, one pitch AB and Jaso swung out of his shoes twice, popping out, stranding the runner and continuing an abysmal offensive showing this weekend. I just want evidence that they're actually thinking up there. That's all.

Why doesn't gentry try for more bunt hits? Fast, light hitter. With parrino at second seemed like a good opportunity

That would involve thinking, and maybe an understanding that despite his 6'3 frame he has about as much power as Duane Kuiper. The old, alcoholic version.

This pitiful offensive trend has become beyond frustrating. Gotta find a way to pull this one out.

I'm not watching, but I'm nevertheless confident the team will come through.  And if not, I'm still pretty confident we'll win the World Series.

Pretty frustrating series for sure, though.  After starting the season remarkably consistent in home/away splits, those splits have dramatically diverged - possibly losing 7 of the last 8 on the road, while winning 9 of the last 10 at home.

This team is terrible and it is due to BB's bad trade.  Way too many ex-cubbies to win now noidea
