Interesting lineup there, i guess we are hurting with only three actual outfielders on the roster right now. I just don't trust Alberto's fielding and then he is at one of the more important positions.

It's just Melvin's way of getting all the lefties in the lineup.

Moss has been an outfielder most of his career.  He became a first baseman because the A's were desperate for a first baseman.

Re: 6/7 vs Orioles

This is only the second time this year that the Orioles have had to use a starter who was not in the season opening rotation. As last time, it's Gausman replacing Miguel Gonzales.

Doing some research and stumbled across the A's and their 2.89 ERA this year. No Oriole's starter has an ERA under 4.13. The Orioles are 25th in MLB in ERA, 28 in strike outs, 18 in walks, 5th worst in home runs allowed, and 2nd worst in opponents OBA. I could go on, but it's too depressing until I remember as lousy as the starters have been, they are 20-20.I can quibble about the lack of innings they give, or wonder why they walk anybody with a pretty damn good defense behind them, but if my Orioles are to do anything this year, they've got to get better pitching.

I'm off my soapbox now.

My interest is the O's, but tonight I'll want to see if we see beanball wars (I hope not - I remember Tony Conigliaro's face from 1967 staring out of an SI cover after being hit in the face. If the A's go after Machado, I'll understand, but not like it. ), and I'm wondering if young Mr. Gausmann can 1. throw strikes and 2. keep the A's in the yard.

The games between these two teams since 2012 have been pretty entertaining; last night was no exception. On paper,Sonny at 6-1 vs. Gaussman looks like a mismatch, but I'm hopeful. That's what fans like us do...

Why are O's fans booing Donaldson? Machado is the idiot, don't hate.

Machado could have attacked Donaldson with his bat, the home fans would still boo Donaldson

Gausman got some serious gas. That sinker at 93 mph looks filthy, and he runs the 4 seamer high 90's.

Wasted opportunity. Hoping Jed snaps out of it soon.

I was just about to post that Coco missed a triple by an inch. I'll take the big fly instead.

I have not seen Lowrie put together many quality at bats this year.  He's looked awful at the plate IMO

I'm worried that Gray will regress as the season wears on. He's got two pitches, and they both need to be pretty sharp for him to be successful. Otherwise it's like Game 5 of the ALDS last year.

Is it just me or does Markakis look like Kaepernick...

What's the onfield delay?

Other than the fact that both have been disappointments since their first year on the scene, I don't see it.

Good question. I have Gameday open and the game on TV with the sound down and didn't see anything. Maybe it was Machado crying about taking strike three right down the middle of the plate? When the telecast returned they showed Donaldson looking toward the plate with a confused look as he ran off the field, and then a shot of Machado looking annoyed with Angel Hernandez.

Guy is already my favorite A's pitcher since Huddy. Sure hope he hold up.

Listening to the O's announcer and that may be one of the most annoying voices I have heard in a while.
