I don't think it's a strict platoon, but it seems the team is going to rest Coco against most LHP unless they face a bunch of lefties in a row. His numbers against lefties have been pretty bad the last few seasons and that nagging wrist injury affects his ability to hit right handed more so than left handed.

The A's are 7 and 12 when trailing after 7. That seems pretty incredible.

I'd have thought that was their record when leading after 7. tongue Though the total games leading after 7 would be too low.

Helps when you're never behind by more than a run or two.

We've been watching an incredible run of baseball for two years now.

Make sure you're enjoying it, people, because they're more rare than most appreciate.

Wow, that is crazy.  According to Baseball-Reference, MLB teams in 2014 are 72-673 when trailing after 7 innings. If the A's had the same winning percentage as the rest of baseball in that situation, they would have just 2 (instead of 7) wins when trailing after 7 innings.

But, yeah, as beermeplease notes this is probably related to them never trailing by more than a run or 2.

Moss in RF? Wouldn't it better to have cespedes' arm in RF instead?

Yep, Jesse's tread is wearing thinner with each start.

Just when the A's got Nuno really working hard, Blanks GIDP on the first pitch he sees.

Cespedes has never played RF for us, nor in Cuba, I don't think, while Moss has.  Guess they don't want to flip angles on him midseason.  I think Cespedes is a career LF/CF at this point.

If the A's had professional hitters who wouldn't choke in the clutch, they would be 12-7, like a real elite team and not one that is just waiting to be exposed again.

Re: 6/4 vs. Yankees

Second time Callaspo went warning track in LF, this time just missed a grand slam.

A's tie the game though 4-4.

Re: 6/4 vs. Yankees

Terrible at bat by Punto. A's need to address 2b eventually. Sogard and Punto are backups, not starters.

Can't believe Gentry got thrown out on that ground ball. Thought for sure the A's would take the lead on a Gentry infield single.
