It reminds me when the A's brought his father, Ed to camp in 1977. It didn't end so good..

It looks like Landon Powell has found employment too.

For a guy who has been fighting autoimmune hepatitis and will require a liver transplant in the next few years, even playing baseball is a minor miracle.

Only our Oakman would remember something like that... OAKMANIA wrote: It reminds me when the A's brought his father, Ed to camp in 1977. It didn't end so good..

Is the pennant now occupied by the Brewers?

Re: Look who's workin'
Greenmachine, I had high hopes Ed Crosby was going to be our starting second basemen that season after Oakland dealt Tommy Helms back to Pittsburgh. 1977 was a really strange season after losing most of our starting team through free agency..

Re: Look who's workin'
Didn't they audition former Brave second sacker Marty Perez that year? Mike Edwards was mixed in there somewhere, too, as I recall... or did he not come along until 1978? I once saw him turn an unassisted double play...

Re: Look who's workin'
You are correct Green Machine. Marty Perez took most of the turns, followed by Rodney Scott and Larry Lintz.. Old Mike Edwards came on the scene in 1978 in the Manny Sanguillen deal.

Ah, Rodney Scott... Later to become a Dick Williams favorite for some unknown reason...

BigJ7489 wrote: http://www.mlbdailydish.com/20...gn-bobby-crosby I hope he makes the team. I would love to see Crosby flail away aimlessly at sliders shoelace high 4 ft off the plate just one more time.

www.mlbdailydish.com/2013/1/24...ign-dan-johnson Happy For Dan. He's one of my favorite people in baseball. 280 career HR's between the minors and the majors. (edit*: Plus 24 more in Japan for a total of 304). Here's hoping he sinks the Red Sox a couple of times this summer!
