Re: A's trade Cowgill to Mets
Minorleagueball lists him outside the Mets' top prospects and in the "others" category. Although still playing young for the league last year as a 21 year old in AA, he didn't put up very good numbers with a .251/.322/.356 line. http://www.minorleagueball.com...spects-for-2013

RE: A's trade Cowgill to Mets
Glad to see Cowgill head somewhere where he'll get a little better chance to play. Good kid.

"Favor trade" for Cowgill to get him a better opportunity elsewhere? SoDakota wrote: Minorleagueball lists him outside the Mets' top prospects and in the "others" category. Re: A's trade Cowgill to Mets
so no mitchell and cowgill, there goes some OF depth.
opens up opportunity for Choice in AAA 2013. A's tried to acquire cowgill multiple times as we know. After he sprained his ankle, took awhile for him to come back.

Re: A's trade Cowgill to Mets
This year will still be playing with players 2-3 years older than he is (21 starting in double A). I like his trade, potential and 3rd baseman, plus as many said Cowgill was just going to ride the pine or play for AAAA SoDakota wrote: Minorleagueball lists him outside the Mets' top prospects and in the "others" category. The A's have all the OF depth they need on the major league roster barring a catastrophe: Cespedes, Crisp, Reddick, Young, Smith, and Moss.

RE: A's trade Cowgill to Mets
Would like this trade if it was Taylor. Cowgill was 1st in line in the OF if there's an injury

Re: A's trade Cowgill to Mets
Cowgill was out of options and there's no room for another OF on the roster. Oh, and the A's needed a spot on the 40-man roster. It's a numbers game.

Re: A's trade Cowgill to Mets
taylor probably doesnt have much value, cowgill can play all 3 OF positions. i would think shane peterson would be next in line. of course theres 6 capable OF's on the mlb roster
if A's didnt have crisp last offseason i had some outside hopes cowgill/mitchell could be decent platoon combo, obviously never happened

Re: A's trade Cowgill to Mets
Just wondering if the A's would consider dealing Chris Carter. Jays fan here and we need a RH 1st base/DH type badly thats cheap. What would it take to get him?

Re: A's trade Cowgill to Mets
Don't think the A's are willing to part w/ him. We don't have a strong IF to begin with. DownandLow wrote: Just wondering if the A's would consider dealing Chris Carter. Jays fan here and we need a RH 1st base/DH type badly thats cheap. What would it take to get him?
