So I do believe it's no longer bad Bob, good Bob. But rather, old Bob, GREAT Bob.
And did this bring back some of the end of the season memories for any of you? It all came rushing back.

Feel like I'm back on top of the world! I saved several of my dvr recordings ... namely the Yankee and Rangers series. I cannot tell you how many times I've replayed the final game vs. Texas. Still give me goose bumps. Anyway, the right choice was made, even though Melvin was shocked, he deserved it. What surprised me, was seeing that the M's won 93 games with him at the helm one of his Seattle seasons. |

Fantastic news! I guess the 'East coast bias' was more in the reporting of who might get the award than in how the voting went.
Terrific job by Showalter this year though. Too bad that both managers couldn't win for this past season.

Congratulations to Melvin and the A's organization on a memorable year, and the awards they earned for their good work. Well deserved..
I'm confused about the balloting. I thought each city that has an American League team has two votes for each of the BBWAA awards. The breakdown of votes I'm seeing indicates that the AL East had 11 votes (s/b 10) and the AL West had 7 (s/b 8).
Does this indicate that some of the national correspondents (Gammons, Rosenthal, Olney, eg) had a vote and are counted as East, or that there aren't two members of the BBWAA in one of the AL West cities?
