I have this "baseball trivia" calendar that my parents got me a gift last year (they know I am a sucker for stuff like that) and some of the questions are very easy but some are really interesting. If I come across a Yankee one I will try to remember to post it up. I was surprised I was able to find the answer to your question but it wasn't easy!

Since Gehrig is a part of the in-game trivia question today, it's a good time to mention that during his streak, he played through a fractured thumb, a fractured toe, recurring back spasms...and...after he retired...x-rays are said to have revealed that he had sustained 17 hand fractures, presumably all while playing baseball...He was a tough hombre...
