I was very close to purchasing tickets for this game until my friend had to bail on me. I'm glad I didn't go, that was a pretty tough game to watch other than Montero's at bats.

The two pluses: Colon pitched great and Montero hit the ball hard three times against one of the best pitchers in the game.

I hate giving away games like the past few. I'm a believer in the idea that if you have a chance to step on your opponent's throat you take it. The Yankees had an opportunity to gain more ground afte the Boston loss and failed to capitalize. Sure the offense scored only one run against a great pitcher but the bullpen choices after Robinson were suspect at best. If you are going to coast at least play the call-ups with potential so they can get their feet wet.
yea u def got a point bails least the yanks got the little cushion they do because tampa is closing the gap on the wild card but the yanks have a bigger lead on them than boston does imagine if the yanks were 5.5 ahead of tampa the D&G would be out in full force

why ??? beccause nunni ,is Trouble !!! Fine--but you have Chavez to put in at 3B and make a double switch if you want Chavez up sooner--it's why you have people up--to use not to have guys who can't field (did you see Pena point to 2nd base on the hit and run play--hey moron--the ball has to come to you--that runner means nothing he's not going to take 2B on that play) Pena can't hit and his glove cost this team a game (Mets), so he adds??? Nunez has at least helped the team win--but I have a hard time believing the manager gives a guy the green light on an 0-2 count?? WTF was that? They can pitchout 2 times in a row if they want. Aaron Laffey and Scott Proctor the past 2 days makes me F-ing SICK. I'm not doom and gloom but I HATE one trait Girardi doesn't understand--until you have qualified for the playoffs--you ARE NOT in-so you push hard to get in--then can mess around and use useless players. Can't do that crap when Rays are now within 8 games of you in loss column with 7 to play agains them, and 3 left with Sox--not to mention your lineup can't hit right now and has to face Haren, Santana, and Felix Hernandez the next 3 nights. The one guy who has a live bat--you bat 8th and then will give off the next few games because he's far too hot and you want to see what "Jorge" can do--as if the 5 months of wasted AB's weren't enough. Finish STRONG--get into the postseason and then worry about what you'll do with roster when you get there--until then, this managing has to be put into the disgusting focus it has earned. Aaron Laffey and Scott Proctor couldn't get out HS players who can't get play town team ball.

I'm glad Mariano gets 3 days of rest. It annoys me when Girardi chooses Aaron Laffey over guys like Kontos who has way more talent. Laffey is a legit scrub pitcher.

The Yankees are lucky the Sox are playing their worst baseball since early April...Watch out the Rays are closing fast too..To me the offense offense needs to get back on track..They have 0 runs off the opponents bullpen in three games. To many easy outs and poor ab's...The Yanees have had one base runner reach second base safely since the fourth inning of the game on Thursday and that was on Montero's HR last night...Thats pathetic for a team like the Yankees...

I was hoping the Sox could take advantage of what has to be a really tired Yankee team. They still might, but TB has a very good pitching staff...

Right now, this is like two heavyweight fighters that have hit each other at the same time and both are laying on the canvas while the referee's count has started...one...two...three... You have to wonder which one will get up first, and which one will build up the head of steam fastest, with September 23 and the next meeting between the two coming up soon. Who will be hot, and who will be cold then???

Well, you guys want Girardi fired and I bet that's as mysterious to the angel fans. At least you guys have a slight excuse - you got spoiled by a 114 win team, so any team that is less pretty much unacceptable.

The 125 win team was amazing, but I don't think that has anything to do with fans dissatisfaction with Girardi. I think some of us would like to see the manager utilize the team's strength's, instead of weakening it with bunts, foolish stolen base attempts and overmanaging the bullpen.
