Here's a bold one. Cano's doubles become HRs, his BABIP soars, and he wins the triple crown...

And I don't mean the The Preakness, Kentucky Derby, and Belmont Stakes, either...devil

Cano wins MVP
Jeter hits .296
Kuroda, Garcia, Hughes and Pineda each have more wins than Ivan Nova
Playoff Rotation:  CC, Hughes and Kuroda
Granderson has a nice year, but doesn't surpass last years numbers.
Tex gets a bunt single down the 3rd base line
Arod has a quiet but productive year, gets hot during the playoffs and is named World Series MVP.

Re: 2012 Yankees Bold Predictions

I'll play along.

AJ Burnett finishes the season on the Yankees
Alex Rodriguez sets a new career low for games played
Brandon Laird becomes the everyday 3rd baseman at some point this season
Eduardo Nunez is traded before the year is over
Austin Romine takes Francisco Cervelli's job
Brett Gardner is traded at the all-star break
CC Sabathia "wins" 20 games and competes for (but does not win) the CYA
The Yankees have the best bullpen in baseball
Mark Teixeira leads the team in HRs

Re: 2012 Yankees Bold Predictions

CC goes on Weight Watchers and drops to 190 lbs., then goes 4-16 on the mound, but looks good doing it.
Nick Johnson is signed as the LH DH, and plays 10 games before going on the DL.
Eric Chavez is re-signed, and plays 150 games while batting .230.
Brett Gardner is put back in CF where he belongs, and Grandy goes to left.
Mo's cutter is down to 85 mph on the radar gun, and still no one can hit it.
Derek Jeter finally gets married...to Kim Kardashian.  It lasts until the end of the season.
Cervelli gets traded and Austin Romine becomes the back-up catcher.
Yankees form a pro basketball team with the 6'7" CC and Pineda (along with Russell Branyan), the 6'5" Hughes
   and the 6'4" AJ.
ARod is on his way to another MVP season when Bud Selig announces he is investigating ARod for steroid relapse.  Nothing is found, but Bud suspends him anyway.

RE: 2012 Yankees Bold Predictions

1. The Yankees re-sign Kei Igawa, so that they may finally trade him for that coveted bag of balls fans have been clamouring for since his arrival. Scouts report that the balls have "++" stitching, though their horsehide does need some work.

2. Larry Rothschild will be "pleasantly surprised" with A.J. Burnett's control in his pieing motion. The mercurial Burnett has had consistency issues in the past, but his revamped sidearm ninja delivery will have a noticeable effect, surprising fans and pie-ees alike.

3. On a related note, the team will learn the hard way that free agent acquisition Raul Ibanez is indeed lactose intolerant, after being pied following his walk-off grand slam against the Orioles. Swisher noted that the results were "Not pretty."

4. The Yankees will introduce their new line of gameday ballcaps, with plush corduroy interior; a move that will make all the headlines.

5.Deadspin will out HOF baseball analyst as a closeted Yankees fan, after discovering his substantial collection of Pinstripe memorabilia, to include an autographed pair of Yankee boxer shorts, signed by George Steinbrenner, and a rather complex shrine set up in honour of Alex Rodriguez. Experts call the exhibit "creepy, yet complete".

6. Thousands of fans will fail miserably in their attempt to recreate the iconic "Yankees win, The-uh-uh-uh-uhhhh Yankees Win!" call by legendary Bronx sportscaster John Sterling.
