Game in progress, hopefully, hopefully, hopefully, Walters can keep us in the game and we can somehow touch up Verlander.

Come on Joe, you're better than this....
Well the Evil Empire blew one today to Toronto to swing the door open wide for the O's tonite. OK collusionists...Boston...sort of don't go all out and get the O's into a tie for first. The save it up for the final 3 games against NY and knock them the heck to kingdom come!!!! Yeah.
Blue Jays so far this week have beaten the O's twice and the Yanks twice. THAT'S the definition of 'spoiler'!!!!

Eh, Cabrera was 0-3 against a pedestrian pitcher (Walters) and Mauer is 0-2 against arguably the game's best pitcher (who, by the way, is being ULTRA careful to Mauer and issuing him a walk). By the way, I'd shut down Justin Morneau now. The guy is looking mighty fatigued and that's totally fair after his being gone for so long. Shut him down, already - put Parmalee at first, there are plenty of outfielders now...

Duensing sharp as a tack in the 5 batters he faced, throwing 12 of 16 strikes and looked formidable striking out a couple and not allowing anything out of the infield.
2-0 and within striking distance... Verlander around the 100 mark in the 7th...

By the way, Jim Leyland must be the 2nd worst in-game strategist in all of baseball... brownie points if you can guess who the absolute worst is... AND WOW - how nice of a series is Doumit having??

tough loss. Doumit on fire this series. Just got back from an incredible concert...Classical Mystery Tour w/Rochester Philharmonic --the Beatles themselves couldn;t have sounded better doing their own material. It was flat out astounding how good it was. Even more astounding was the average age of the crowd of 2,000.....yeah...old. (and my dad said back in 1964--those mopheads won't be remembered by anyone 5 years from now)
Nice surprise awaited me...an Oriole win and a tie for 1st. Who'd a thunk it?
BAck to the Twins: I concur about Morneau. He has nothing more to play for this season. It was an OK year, but not a particularly memorable one...except that he stayed healthy....so he gets major props for that. My gut feeling is the Twins are going to try and trade him.
Duensing, yes, looked sharp....but then there is my buddy Burnett, who I can't stand...doing this thing again today.
Joe M may have goofed up his final chance at the batting title with these last 2 hitless games.

Yeah, I missed yesterday's game as well as I was on a Cub Scout hike/campout with my oldest son. The only positive is that the White Sox lost as well. If the Twins have to lose, I would just assume see it be at the expense of Chicago.
