Prior to yesterday, in 27+ innings and 27 appearances, his ERA was 2.67. At home, he was even better. Before yesterday's debacle, he had given up a total of one (1) run in 13 + innings, with opponents hitting .205 against him.

Yeah, this clearly wasn't a move that was made to make room for a guy who was tearing it up in Rochester and deserved a shot. I honestly don't see Pressly being a vast improvement over Guerrier. Unlike the Red Sox, the Twins tend to be tight-lipped about these internal matters, so we may never know what was really going on behind closed doors. I suppose it's possible that Guerrier actually asked to be released after Gardy left him in for too long and management obliged. Oh well. With Kubel, Bartlett and Guerrier now gone, the 2006 Twins Reunion Tour is officially over.

In his last outing of relief during Tuesday 8-2 loss to the Indians, he entered for a single inning in the top of the ninth, threw 30 pitches and surrendered four earned runs.
Gardenhire and trainer Lanning Tucker visited Guerrier on the mound Tuesday, and the manager was asked before Wednesday's game if Guerrier was pitching through an injury.
"When I got out there, Matty said, 'I'm fine,' " Gardenhire said. "I was embarrassed for going out there when he told me he was fine."
Guerrier was unavailable for comment after Wednesday's game. After the game on Tuesday, he expressed dismay over the skipper's visit.
"It's frustrating knowing that I'm out there trying to do my best," he said. "To have them come out and think I'm hurt when I feel good is not a good feeling."
