OT: Super super bore

OT: Super super bore

What a lousy Super Bowl Game. It was a mismatch from the opening play. There haven't been too many stinkers lately...but this was one of them. Even the commercials sucked. Congrats to Seattle for a total humiliation of the Broncos.

Yeah, I found my mind drifting and thinking of baseball... wink

But seriously, a few things grabbed me:

1.)  How seriously ill-prepared Denver looked;
2.)  Why would Peyton Manning persist in the play-action, faking the hand-off almost EVERY single time, despite being down like 5 td's?
3.)  How poor was that tackling?
4.)  Manning simply stretched the field about as often as Christian Ponder - hardly ever.
5.)  Say what you want about Percy Harvin, but the guy can simply fly, even after hip surgery.  What a weapon!

RE: OT: Super super bore

Rochester was front and center in the news yesterday. First the heroin death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, who grew up here (Fairport,NY to be exact...a suburb about 5 miles from where I live) and then Renee Fleming, who sang the Anthem. She too is from our fair city and is probably one of the foremost opera singers of the day. And she did a fabulous job. No lip synching. Stunning. Very proud.
As for Hoffman---it may be cold, but when you choose to abuse your body with drugs...you get what you get. Hollywood will pee and moan and lionize one of their own, but most of me is more angry than sad about these 'stars' who just can't stay away from the drugs. What a waste.

No sympathy for wealthy drug addicts.  I suppose they don't have anything else to do with their free time?  How about contributing to society.  Affecting the lives of millions by being positive role models.  Let us know how hard they worked to achieve what they've achieved.  Give back to the community.  "What a waste", couldn't have said it better myself Insagt.

I also have a big problem with honoring these entertainers who choose to take drugs and wrecklessly end their lives like they are role models or heros. Breaking addiction is hard, but it starts by saying NO, THE FIRST TIME. These people should only be held out as sad examples of what happens when you throw your life away by taking drugs...and thats it. When Whitney Houston OD'ed they practically elevated her to sainthood...yet she was a blatant user and abuser for years. Her choice, plus the company she chose to keep.
Again, no tears.

Albers will pitch for a South Korean team.  I think the team got a million for that deal.
