I'm sorry he got hurt but man you cannot make this stuff up. Talk about a guy thats injury prone.

If the Twins were thinking about bringing him back I say forget about it.

That's rough.

But hey, maybe he'll price just be so low now and he'll have successfully scared other teams to steer so clear of him that we have a chance at picking him up DIRT cheap.biggrin  It'll take 8 weeks to heal and I can't see another team interested in him during this time...  Hope he recovers fast for his sake.

Wow.  I don't know if Blyleven's words ring true anymore, "Pitchers are the best athletes on the baseball field."  Really, how do you injure your spleen shoveling snow?  If he was under contract already, I'd say he was lying and must have been snow boarding Corbet's Couloir in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Pretty serious stuff as he's been hospitalized and had to have the spleen removed.  I wish him well and hope he gets his strength back as soon as possible...

actually its pretty easy to do internal damage shoveling. If you are pushing the snow with one of those big shovels and you hit ice or some other impediment...and you have the handle right in your midsection...blammo...that handle goes right into your gut pretty quickly. Could be very legit.

Absolutely nonsense to question the legitimacy of this injury and most of us have shoveled enough to know... tbh, it's a stroke of very bad luck for him and his family, as 5 teams were in line for the services of Carl Pavano.

God speed recovering...
