Ok, so the kid has a lot of upside, but shows the organization isn't setting up to be competitive in 2013.  confused

I would have liked it had we held out for a Drew Storen... the Nats have been drooling over Denard Span for 2 years now - surely we could have done a tad better than a prospect.

Span has got to be happy going to a contendor but like Brian said this does nothing for the Twins in 2013.

Denard was suppose to be our best trading chip and for what? I don't understand this at all.

I'm sad to see Span go but if this kid is all they make him out to be and a bag of Cheetos then I'll be OK with this trade. It just has the sense of when we traded Delmon for an equipment manager's sunday socks or any of the Twins other "brilliant" trades.
 Meyer and May will be top of the rotation starters by 2015.

WTF WTF WTF????? Has TR lost his freakin mind?? Disgarding a bonafide major leaguer for a A ball pitcher? Come ON!!! I can't even believe any part of this miserable trade. Whats going on? One of our legitimate trading chips and we didn't even get someone for the Red Wings in 2013.

I am beyond, way beyond shocked and disappointed in this move. Guess maybe its true, Twins are trying for the trifecta of 3 straight last place finishes. If I'm a STH, I'm ready to cancel.

What a nightmare deal. Unless this kid turns out to be another Tom Seaver....we've been had.

Not kidding you...  I saw this online ad on same page at Yahoo detailing the trade:

"Dial 9-1-1 at the first sign of a stroke."

Oh, from a Washington perspective, I think this is a fabulous trade and I'm betting on them to go all the way in 2013.  From our position, I don't like the trade whatsoever.  Uckingfay oofygay and it feels like we got fleeced again.  All I say is I hope I'm waayyyyyyyy wrong.

you and me both!
Some of the guys over at the O's board want to know why we were so down on Valencia this year. He had a terrible season with a very bad attitude. It was disgraceful watching him go thru the motions with the Wings...looking like he could care less about being there. Guys like that need to be humbled.
