Posey and Cabrera MVP's

Posey and Cabrera MVP's

Good choices and really no surprises...similarly the Cy Young winners Dickey and Price were no surprise (at least to me) either. Dickey's win was a very popular one and I'm happy for him. A real nice baseball story.
Glad to see a triple crown winner got the MVP...as one writer put it...it was a victory for 'the old stats'...which makes me very happy because as most here know, I am not a fan of sabremetrics.....too much analysis sucks the life and humanity out of the sport IMO.

I couldn't find a link to a video of it but sabremetrics always makes me think of John Gordon in Little Big League saying things like " his batting average against left handed pitchers faced at home for the first time in the last month of the season." The stats speak for themselves, when a guy has that dominant of a year you can't not give him the MVP. I'm a little surprised that Posey won in such a landslide, I thought it would be much closer than it was. The real question is how many years until we have a Twin in either the MVP or Cy Young race...
Meyer and May will be top of the rotation starters by 2015.

well, we still have 2 very recent MVP types---Morneau and Mauer. But the Twins are definitely hurting collectively---hopefully some of these issues will be addressed

The entire team will be in contention next year when we go 162-0 and then win the next 11 games to finish 173-0 as World Series Champions! biggrin
