With cards leading 9-1 after 2ip......
We must win game....looking for Kemp to get 2-3 hits off Francis....
Kershaw is second now in K's...he needs to get 10k tonight...
6-1 win would be nice....

Re: 9/28-9/30 Colorado Rockies at Dodgers.

well i was off..Kershaw did get 10ks..o zero runs..and kemp got zip on hits..
Kershaw is not only 1 k behind Dickey in Ks..8 in IP and leads NL in ERA...

BTW...I think if Clayton gets next victory.. and gives up only 1-2 runs..get enough ks to beat Dickey and is ERA ldr and K leader he has a shot at cy young again...
He got no support from his team this yr and  here are his stats when stacked up against Dickey and Gonazles who have more wins...
3 horse race..
are better...
4 lds.......wins..........ERA.......WHIP.....Ks..... IP...
Kershaw...13............2.58.......1.03....221....219.2
Dickey......20............2.69.......1.05....222....227.2
Gonzales...21............2.89........1.13...207....199
Cueto.......19............2.83.......1.18....164.. ..210

Kershaw has 2 things going against him...Dickey is from NY..and he has only 13 wins..food for thought...
I know his chances are slim because of wins..which is not in his control..

Dickey will get it. 20 wins for the Mets is impressive. Wins are somewhat out of the pitchers hands, but when you get a high number of wins for a poor team it usually means you are pretty good (see Steve Carlton).

I agree, this is one of those times when wins should add value, and for all unconventional reasons.

He along with Ethier, AG, Victorino and to a lesser degree, H-Ram are responsible for us not making the play-offs, due there total lack of production when it mattered.

Many here excused Kemp due to his injuries.  Now that we are out of it and he is hitting again, has he now miraculously recovered??

Re: 9/28-9/30 Colorado Rockies at Dodgers.

Yes, we might not make the playoffs (probably won't) and the offense is responsible.  But seeing Kemp and Gonzalez getting hot gives us some hope that next year won't be a continuation of the scoring problems we've had right after the trades.  If Kemp, Gonzalez, Crawford and Ethier, all under contract for at least 6 years, don't play to their fullest capability then this team will struggle.  And I don't like how left handed we are at the plate next year.

Dodgers need to win out.  One more against the Rockies and then the Giants will be going all out to knock the Dodgers out of any wild card chance.

What it shows is that Kemp can still be Kemp. I think he's still playing hurt, but maybe he's feeling better lately. If you don't know exactly what's ailing him, then you can't expect to understand the recovery. Hitting in the major leagues is only easy for spectators. For Kemp, the difference between beast mode and a bad slump could be quite small. But Mattingly has stuck with him, and Kemp is giving it his best shot. In the bigger picture, that's more important than even making the playoffs this year.

Who knows how much fatigue and injury played a role, but no question the Dodger offense failed under pressure. Now that expectations have gone down, it appears they've loosened up a bit. These players have never won championships, and it remains to be seen if they have what it takes. Nothing unusual, and fans can either gripe or be patient.

Re: 9/28-9/30 Colorado Rockies at Dodgers.

That last Sunday afternoon game vs. the Cardinals was one that we should have won and that will likely be the difference.  We had a man on third and less than two outs in the bottom of the 9th and couldn't get him home.  Had we won that, we would be currently tied for the spot...

Giants are not throwing any of their top guys the next three days, so we do have a shot of winning three or four of the final four.  I think we will get three of them, but that will probably not be enough.  Cards will need to collapse completely...

Would be nice to close to a game today and put some pressure on the Cards.

Re: 9/28-9/30 Colorado Rockies at Dodgers.

todays game.....look for Beckett to maybe shut out Rockies AAA lineup again..Rockies lost 2 more players yesterday...so pitchers have to occasionally hit..
DeLaRosa coming off TJ surgery...we need him not to be sharp...get him early...LHP...so Ethier ,AGon need to hit him...

Cruz and Kemp...2   2 run hr...
interesting stat...
when Kemp has 2 hits...Dodgers are 30-4....wow....
too bad they didn't put him on DL early in May.. so he could come back stronger..

Re: 9/28-9/30 Colorado Rockies at Dodgers.

so Kemp has 2 hits in this game..so record looks like 31-4....
Tolleson might not make this club early next yr..he is blowing
opportunities..
Dodgers will probably sign League to 1 yr deal..bumping Tolleson..to AAA..
Paco has looked good in his first shot..
