Dodgers at Milwaukee 7/8 - 7/10

Dodgers at Milwaukee 7/8 - 7/10

After taking 3 out of 4 from a good team like the Angels, I get the feeling the Dodgers are about to put together a serious run down the stretch. The addition of Matt Kemp, I mean addition because I did not recognize that guy wearing Kemp's jersey early in the season, has help transform this offense into a legitimate threat.

Losing Josh Becket is a big blow but the addition of Hernandez is going help absorb some of the load by eating innings. Becket actually hurt the team over his last few starts by forcing Mattingly to go to the bullpen early on.

While I want to be cautiously optimistic about Haren's performance I came out of the game noticing that he may have finally decided to start pitching like a guy who throws in the upper 80's rather than low to mid 90's. He did a better job locating and taking something off of his pitches. He look a bit like Josh Becket out there.

Go Dodgers!

I smell a sweep. Doubt CK has back to back "average" starts, and Greinke should rebound. Can the pick up come in and shine 1st time out?

As for Haren, I think I heard he lengthened his pause in his delivery and it could of thrown the Angels hitters off. If he has that controll again (and the luck, they barely missed hitting a few out), he has a chance to string together a few wins.

Brewers - Braves - Brewers

Vs

KC - WS - Phillies for the Giants

Really need to dominate the next 10 days!!

Donnie's decision to throw every reliever out there to try and match up doesn't work.. short lived lead gone..

note to Donnie don't play Turner at SS.. it was nice of Ethier to drive in the run but at the cost of taking Rojas
out of the game

Yea, League is awful. He never gets charged with the runs but always seems to come in and allow every runner put on by another pitcher score. That is why for relief pitchers, a good ERA doesn't always tell the right story. Everyone knows we need bullpen help, but first of all you need a manager who knows how to use one.

99 out of 100 times Donnie has Rojas hit there.....I swear, I am totally lost on what that man does sometimes.

After that fiasco on third base and today at short, Turner should never touch a glove again. We can't blame League for this one. Even though the glove flip was absurd.  I'm sick and tired of fundamental fielding mistakes like ole-ing (sp.)  and unnecessary backhanding. Mattingly shuffles his pitcher way too much, if he trusts a pitcher for one batter why not two? (Wright) Ned please get a catcher that can hit his weight.

Re: Dodgers at Milwaukee 7/8 - 7/10

Fausto Carmona was great! Looking like a damn solid pickup for the stretch run. If Haren turns the corner, we're all set at SP.

Donnie's bullpen shenanigans as well as pulling Rojas for Ethier led to the fiasco we just saw. With the game tied, no need to burn through your bench unnecessarily putting players in positions to fail (Turner). Also odds were still decent for Rojas to drive in the run on his lonesome or relying on Kemp's hot bat to come through if Rojas failed (Kemp hit a hard liner, just bad luck it was at someone). Wright has been super solid and i dunno why Donnie B decided to overmanage so early in the series. Leave Wright with a short leash and trust in the BP until they fail. Hell if he was taht dubious of Wright, then toss in League to bridge the gap to Wilson/KJan instead.

Bleh, a totally winnable game. Lets hope our aces pitch like their usual Cy Young selves. Nice to see AGon's bat come alive though.

Tough loss, but we will take them down the next 2 especially with our aces on the hill

Ditto!  League should have been out of that inning and those runs shouldn't have happened.  I don't put that on League. Besides.  League has been Donnie's ironman out of the bullpen and he's been doing the job. He's made adjustments from last year and he's not the disaster that everyone makes him out to be.  It's more like his past is still shadowing him and his bad rap isn't as warranted as it was last year.  I'm not that bummed by him like some others.
