Padres @ Dodgers (10-13 July)

looks like Kershaw will have to extend his scoreless streak..

offense couldn't deliver in the 1st and 3rd with scoring chances

It was a real nice run by Clayton. Too bad it had to end with him giving up a homerun to a .225 hitter. But 41 1/3 scoreless, not a bad streak. Now let's win the game by starting to get some clutch hits.

Got to say I was very impressed with Despaigne.  He got in some minor trouble and followed it up with some hellacious pitches.  The Padres got a steal here it looks like.

Just the facts.

There are major league pitchers, there are even great all star pitchers, and then we have Kershaw. That guy is special. He has taken his game to a new level. cool

The guy is in a league of his own right now.  Despaigne is legit as well, his last three outings have been terrific.

Let's see how the SD pitcher does next  start after that blistering line drive by puig of leg.
That had to hurt.

Fantastic outing by Clayton, which has gotten us back in first place. Hanley hurt again; glad no long term contract.

I was at the game last night and Clayton live, it is a marvel! The dodgers lack of hitting with RISP is pathetic. Kemp, Puig, Uribe all trying to hit the thing out the park...just move the runner along and shorten the swings with less than two outs. Watching Kemp take two strike three calls with a runner at third and less than two outs made me wanna vomit. It was nice to see Puig rope a double off the pitcher though :)

Gotta clutch runs in when they are at third and less than two outs...that **** comes back to haunt in the playoffs.

Overall though, what a treat to see Clayton live!!! Woo hoooooo

P.S. Any chance Haren can not give up a couple gopher balls to the madres???

Current history,

Back on May 15th, I was out to see the San Antonio Missions (Padre AA team) play a game.

Despaigne was the starter for the Missions and it was his first game in the States. He pitched 2 games for San Antonio and then went on to the AAA team, El Paso, and pitched 5 games. 29 Ks in 23.2 innings.

He warmed up right in front of me on that May night. Pitched 3 innings, giving up 2 hits 1 run, 2 walks, and had 6 Ks. He was on a pitch limit that night. Noticed his stylish motion. He looked sharp to me.

Last night, was looking forward to Perez or League pitching the 9th inning.  They need the work to prove themselves worthy to stay on this team.

League needs to prove he is worthy of staying on this team?  I would have to strenuously object to the idea he has not already done so.

I would never have wanted that, especially in a one-run game. Had that happened, Kershaw probably would not have gotten the win. I am glad he got to finish what he started.

Tongue in cheek -- I would rather both Perez and League were pitching in AAA.

I think that the 21 million dollar man may be the biggest laughable joke in major league baseball.  Send Matt Kemp to the minors.  See how long his embarrassment will get him to quit baseball and go do something else for a living because he does not have adequate skills to hit a baseball at this level.

What a waste of money.  Kemp if you any integrity you would quit this game and leave the money behind.

We aren't going anywhere!! Our catchers both stink, I can't remember the last time we actually blocked a pitch in the dirt. We've got two guys in center that are corner outfielders. There isn't a clutch hitter on the team. The Giants are trying to give us the west but, we refuse to take it. Most of our relief pitchers should be in the minors or home. The base running is deplorable. A manager worth his salt would punish such reckless running. With a payroll north of 200 mill., we life long fans should expect more and receive it.

Right on brother!  I think you'll agree that Kershaw should be the first to go.  There's no place for playoff chokers on the Dodgers.  The Yankees won't trade the great Masahiro Tanaka for him straight up of course, but maybe they will if the dodgers will also give them Seager and Pederson.
I can take a few sentences distinguishing them...

I think that it is probably the case that Hanley Ramirez will not see a chiropractor because medical doctors do not believe in any medical treatment other than their own.

Do not even orthopedists conduct that physical spinal manipulations of chiropractors.
Including the first rib and vertebra near the shoulder that Ramirez would benefit from.
