Dodgers at Rockies 6/6-6/8

Uh oh, the Dodgers are going up against a pitcher with a 0-4 record and a 5.51 ERA going into today's game. Could be real trouble for overpaid underachievers.

And it was......these losers are just that! The worst team in the history of baseball given the payroll. A SF win tonight should push us what 9.5 back? Yep its almost over....at least come July I can cancel my MLB. TV this year.

Our bullpen stinks. Plus, the underachievers couldn't get a man in from third with no outs or the game would have never gone to extra innings and Perez. Ugh!

Amazing how bad we struggle against bad pitching. I feel sorry for Kershaw today.

Some bright spots on an otherwise  disappointing team. Puig! That guy has been great. Dee Gordon looks way better at 2B than SS and his speed is an absolute weapon. League. I thought that guy was toast.

It is a shame to waste such excellent starting pitching. First the bullpen was blowing games left and right, then the defense, now the offense just can't get anything going consistently with Hanley and Gonzalez way under-performing.

Maybe even as a player; probably would be better than most of the guys in the Dodgers' starting lineup. biggrin

Re: Dodgers at Rockies 6/6-6/8

What is the possibility that Josh Donaldson would like to increase his salary to at least 8 million in a trade for Chad Billingsley or some other Dodger pitcher.

Too bad if the Dodgers are stuck with M. Kemp, A. Ethier
and their huge to gigantic salaries, and will not be able to keep Zack Grienke from declaring free agency without losing him, then:

Could a deal be made to obtain Josh Donaldson and the A's take Zack who wants  more money than he is being paid now.  No, it cannot be low paying Oakland

Never mind, first idea is only possibility.   We lose both pitchers because of Kemp and Ethier

It's a sad lineup when the player with the best average is our pitcher at .267

I haven't read anything about Zack complaining about his salary. Where can I find it?

So much for expectations...

Nats --- 32-29
Braves --- 32-29
Dodgers --- 33-31
Cards --- 33-31
Indians --- 32-31
Yankees --- 31-31
Rangers --- 31-32
Pirates --- 29-33
Reds --- 29-32
Red Sox --- 27-34
Rays --- 24-40

All these teams were in the playoffs last year, and/or expected to be really good this year. Many flabbergasted fans?

Re: Dodgers at Rockies 6/6-6/8

Now that Kemp's bat is starting to come to life a little bit, we may be in good shape.

The Dodgers would be well-served calling up Joc, then trading one or both of Ethier and Crawford for whatever RP, 3B, SS, 2B, or C depth they can get.
Ethier and Crawford have contributed basically nothing so far, so losing them will not be a huge deal.

Our outfield should be Puig, Joc, and Van Slyke, with Kemp coming off the bench and making starts to give players rests. SVS should spell Gonzalez at 1B periodically to keep him fresh.

When Uribe returns, he'll be at 3B, with Turner as a utility backup.

Calling up Guerrero as soon as possible to get him acclimated would also be a good idea.

OF: Puig, SVS, Kemp, Joc
3B: Puig
2B: Gordon/Guerrero
SS: Hanley
1B: Gonzalez
C: Ellis

P: Kershaw, Greinke, Ryu, Beckett, Haren (or Fife, if Haren starts to fall off)
