Dodgers looking to trade one of the big 4 ?

By Aaron Steen

  • The Dodgers are expected to trade one of their "big four" - Matt KempCarl CrawfordAndre Ethier or Yasiel Puig - according to rival executives speaking with Rosenthal. Puig is, of course, the least likely to be moved.

Re: Dodgers looking to trade one of the big 4 ?

Who the Dodgers trade likely depends on the players they receive in return. If we trade a bad contract for another, Carl Crawford is likely to be the player; i.e. Carl Crawford + cash to the Rangers for Elvis Andrus. If we are talking about decent overpaid players I could see the Dodgers sending Andre Ethier to the Rangers for Ian Kinsler. Obviously, if we are talking about acquiring a solid player/prospect, Matt Kemp is likely to be the guy. Puig on the other hand would likely net us the biggest return.

First, The Dodgers are owned by Guggenheim.  There are no bad contracts.  Second, When the Dodgers win the World Series, there is a scenario that could quite possibly play out.  Girardi may not return to the Yankees so, subsequently, The Yankees may throw a lot of money at Mattingley to bring him back to the Bronx.  This could lead to a trade between the Dodgers and Angels.  Ethier for Scoscia.  Just saying!

Wow, this is a big headline from mlb rumours......
Ethier most likely and having played cf this year has helped his value.
Crawford contact makes him second choice but he is a good 1/2 batting order guy and dodgers can afford to keep  him.

I'd say Ethier for sure in nov/dev. SVS can be BU 4th OF and in another yr we will have Joc  ready

With the money the Dodgers have and the amount of injuries the outfield has had I would keep all four.

Does anyone know how many games all four were healthy at the same time this year?

If the Dodgers win the World Series, why wouldnt they re-sign Mattingly?

Trading Ethier for Scoscia would be wasteful, plus I heard the Angels are going to get rid of Dipoto and not Mike.

What a shocking annoucement.  Rival executives "think" we are going to trade one of our four outfielders.  In other news rival executives "think" we are going to try and sign Clayton Kershaw.
