Official: Teahen Traded!!!!
http://www.nydailynews.com/spo...dex.html?page=1 "The Daily News learned the White Sox have agreed to send second baseman Chris Getz and third baseman Josh Fields to the Royals for Mark Teahen, who is expected to replace Jermaine Dye as Chicago's right fielder. " In true Royals luck fashion, Teahen will probably finally play up to his potential in the Cell and will likely kill the Royals every time we face him.
Edit: Now Buster Olney is saying it's not a done deal yet. 2nd Edit: and now the White Sox have confirmed, hats off to Bill Madden.

You linked it. I read it. I refuse to believe it.
I care not for Josh Fields but really like Chris Getz.

Whoa. Maybe Fields will snap out of it and realize he has talent.

Re: Teahen Traded!!!!
I guess this means the Mark Teahen show has been cancelled.... :( I guess we'll never see the exciting conclusion of the cliffhanger they left at the end of this past season.. Teahen was a decent player and and cool guy, hopefully Getz and Fields will get their acts together in KC

RE: Teahen Traded!!!!
Not a bad return for Teahen. I've always been a big fan of Teahen but i realize this is not a big loss. I am really curious where Getz and Fields fit on the team though. I won't even try to guess everyone's role this early in the offseason, but this makes me really anxious to see how things shake out the rest of the offseason.

Re: Teahen Traded!!!!
I love the move (If only we didn't sign Bloomy to a 2 year deal). Getz has has a terrific second year throughout the minors. If he can improve like that this year we could be looking at a solid .340 obp and solid D at 2b. As far as Fields, he was a first round pick...with poor OBP but a little slug, what are the implications for Gordon? Is this a move to put some heat on him?

Re: Teahen Traded!!!! (3 votes)
Well, so long Mark. I may be mistaken, but I think we just traded one crappy hitter and got two back in return. Is that winning or losing?

i think you underestimate the idiocy that is trey hillmans managing and dayton moores roster construction. bobellis75 wrote: Royals1969 wrote: Wonder where Callaspo is going? Outfield? RE: Teahen Traded!!!!
Could Getz play second and Callaspo play third, leaving Gordon to Omaha or RF?

Re: Teahen Traded!!!!
Wow, this is big. I LOVE getting Teahen's $$ off the books because I viewed him as $5M this year. Getz is promising - though I really liked Bert's bat. Fields is worth a shot - change of scenery perhaps? Only this is that he plays 3B and 1B - so Gordon & Butler This gets rid of Jacobs and Teahen though, so that saves big bucks. I'm happy. EDIT: I fully prepare to see Teahen all of a sudden "get it" up at the Cell.

Re: Teahen Traded!!!!
Everyone said Teahen was a poor mans Mark Derosa, comparing the trades do you think that is true? DeRosa to the Cards for what look to be good relief pitcher Chris Perez & upside relief pitcher Jess Todd (the ptbnl). How in your mind does the Teahen trade stack up to this, or would you of rather taken the hypothetical Sean Marshal trade we were hearing about at the deadline.

Otherwise, I really don't see where he fits in at this point on the 25 man.
