Ned sure doesn't waste time moving Aoki back to leadoff but keeps Billy back at 6 lol

Glad to see Hosmer back in lineup, I like Billy in the 6th spot, rather see Cain leading off than Aoki.

of course Aoki has a longer string at leadoff than Cain, Aoki is a real leadoff hitter, remember?

I want Cain batting first, but he isn't exactly the hottest hitter right now. His OPS is .606 in July. Aoki is hitting the ball better then him right now so I am fine with this lineup.

Cain has been cold...Aoki has a 360 OBP since coming off DL.

Oakland is searching high and low for OF'er...

didn't they want Aoki back before Milwaukee got him?

I'd get them on the phone and be perfectly fine with anything Beane gives us.

Jason Vargas is sim-gaming it up right now. Batters include Hosmer, Moustakas and Colon.

We can't trade Aoki because we really don't have a replacement. He is the same situation as Butler. Probably better value just holding onto him. Who is our replacement? Dyson is not a starter. He should only be used on occasion or as an injury replacement for a player. Also he is not good against lefties. The only way Aoki becomes expendable is if we acquire another outfielder in a trade.

ya, Cain is really struggling to bet on base right now so he can't hit lead-off.  someone else just stated that Aoki has a .360 OBP since coming off the DL.

OAK doesn't want Aoki, you know they're wheeling and dealing right now to get a much better option.

so they are easing him into what it's like to face MLB hitters?

It happens all the time. I guess McCullough happened to pick it up. Players who were injured throw bullpen sessions or sim games.

Edit: with hitters you would hear: hitting off a tee, taking some swings, or taking flyballs in the outfield.

All of these things generally happen sometimes before a minor league assignment for rehab to get the player back up to speed.

He threw one the other day and his command was not up to par, so if today's goes well then he will be back in the rotation.

Bet they don't go after Byrd because they don't want to exercise the option.

They wouldn't have to because they are not on his no trade list.
