Good little cost pick up, might help us win a danged game where we are losing by a run or two late since Nedgar won't use his frontline guys without a lead.....

Probably mostly inconsequential.....the bats Dayton, the bats....

Good trade. Has ok numbers this year and it keeps the Coleman and Mariot types from running out there.

One of those good, small moves.

Good move.  I like Patton and think he will be very successful in the future, but we need to win now.

It's probably because he went to Topeka Washburn Rural.

Using a 24th round pick to acquire a pitcher who will help for a pennant race.  Good move.  Patton may or may not be a big leaguer.  KC's pen could use the extra arm.  An experienced guy might not be so bad either.  Short term, low cost in cash and talent.  I"m sure the experts will hate it since it's a DM move.  Frasor may keep KC in a game or two that the Royals can win or save the top bullpen guys from getting worn out from too many innings.

This is a good move depending on what impact
bat we turned down for Patton.

I like this move so much I wouldn't mind similar one for
a lefty as well.

I think Scott Downs will be a solid pick up. If you look at his white sox numbers he was getting lefties out.I think he will be the lefty pickup

Some random guy on Twitter who claims to have inside knowledge says that the Rangers have a deal in place to flip Patton for Puig.

Why would the Rangers want a loudmouth Cuban player who strikes out and can't hit the cutoff man?

I like the move.  Coleman, Collins, Crow, Mariot were/are not producing.  We had to get a 4th guy and got it.

Now make a move like this to get a legitimate power hitter please.

I'm being sarcastic. When we picked up downs for
NOTHING. people were complaining about moore's refusal
to get a bat.

I like downs. Another good pick up. A power lefty would be
even better.

You have to have a team willing to deal, the pieces to make it happen, and it needs to make sense both regarding where you are now and where the team is headed. Given those parameters, do you see any realistic scenarios?

Great move

A team that can't hit consistently is going to have to find a way to win more than their share of 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 type games. Gotta find a way to hold these games, even when losing. When winning, Ned will actually use Wade Davis, etc.
