The 4 spot hits 333/368/514 vs lefties for his career.

Well, ya never know.

Go Royals.
Not really based on numbers. He has an .832 career OPS against lefties, and about .900 this year. Numbers wise its probably a good call... Even if Gordon was in there

Re: Gameday 7-10-2014 vs Tigers

To me, Dyson finding a way to get on base tonight is key vs Smyly.  I know he struggles with lefties, but with his disruption on the base paths combined with 5 out of the next 6 hitters being RH, we could get a big inning.  Righties OPSing 929 on Smyly this year.

Dyson is 1 for 4 lifetime vs Smyly in 5 PA's with 3 k's and has a 269 OBP this year vs LHP.

Twitter is in an uproar over Valencia in the cleanup spot... If you didnt watch the Royals and just figured out how they were doing based on Twitter youd think they were on the verge of contraction. Its quite funny at times

Every time I think this place is getting bad or full of morons, I just have to take a trip to the Royals' facebook page to be reminded that it could be much worse.

Ha! yeah Facebook is bad. im pretty sure its filled with the people that go to opening day just because thats what everyone is doing, or the only Royals games they watch are the ones that happen to be on at Buffalo Wild Wings they go in to have a beer.

Twitter is a different crowd. Twitter is the bloggers, and "insiders" that know they are smarter than every manager in baseball minus Joe Maddon, and are pretty sure they would be a better GM than everyone except Beane, Friedman, Lunhow, and Mozallack. Other than those 4 theyd have it

Will Smith got rocked again today. 5 runs, no outs. His previous 2 July outings were 1 IP, 2 ER and he got the loss in both. Not sure what happened to him recently.

There are worse places than this? I am not on Twitter and not a friend of Royals on FB. If those places are worse then help us God

No kidding...it's just constant "Glass is cheap;" "Trade X player for a power hitter;" "Butler sucks!" "I'll never come to your games because...." on repeat. I don't know why those people "liked" the Royals page to begin with.

Not sure how this came up in the game thread, but I dig it.  The dude has a 7.72 ERA since June 1st.

I wasn't sure where to put it as I wasn't going to start my own thread for it.  Might also improve the quality of game day thread posting.

I see Valencia's splits vs. LH. But when I think of a contending team, Danny Valencia hitting cleanup does not inspire confidence.  I like Cain at the top of order.  Does Ned stick with him there when Aoki comes back (if he comes back)?

You could have Aoki leading off, and slide Cain to the #2 spot.
