I like Guthries chances today, the guy has been hot lately. I believe we will win this series.

Only positivity today. I do like the lineup. Wonder if Ned reads the boards. Love the 8-9-1 in the lineup.

Sure would be nice to take a series I figured Kansas City would lose 2/3 in, but I don't see it happening today being outmatched both on the mound and lineup wise. Guthrie is really going to have to bring his "A Game" today and hope Wilson slips up.

Nice hit by the lead off guy, a lot of game to go yet. Just limit it to that one run Guts.

The positive is Guthrie only gives up a little over 1 HR/game, so if that's it - a solo shot in the top of the 1st, then things can't get much worse biggrin

You're right, they scored too early, lots of game left.

You really have to admire Trout though, the guy can play.

That was a pretty classic Scott Redman All-Star Royals play there.

I will go back to what I said earlier this week, we seem to lose focus at home and there is no better example than that misplayed ball in losing focus. I don't know what the solution is though.

We just have to score more than them today ready for a big offensive explosion day.

I don't know if it's losing focus so much as nerves. I saw a study recently on English soccer players. They monitored their hormonal levels before and after games to see if there were differences between at home and on the road. Long story short, there are differences. One of the things they found was that experienced players who have played in a lot of big games play better at home. But, the more inexperienced players often succumb to nerves and pressure and play worse at home.

That's English soccer, so not exactly apples to apples, but I wouldn't doubt if something like that was going on with the Royals on this home stand.
